The owner does not like it if you pay by card. Apparently he has to pay fees and gets in a huff about it. In these modern times who carries cash?? Not many people. Owner needs to accept cash, even if for small purchase and not get annoyed by it. Very unprofessional.

This is traditional and oldest business with authentic fish and chips. Loved the way they prepare it . The food very delicious and authentic in taste. I ordered Salmon and chips and it was amazing. You get Big portions and delicious chips along with it, The staff is very considerate of waiting time and when it was too long over a weekend they gave us one free portion of fish which I like about them. I am very happy with their service and would visit them frequently. Much recommended!
Vegetarian options: They are traditional in fish and chips but can do some combination of salads veges maybe.
Dietary restrictions: Can speak to members
Parking: In front of the shop there is paid street parking, during peak times it is difficult to find but then there is big parking lot behind so it is surely to get a space but will add bit of walk.
Kid-friendliness: They have some kids menu
Wheelchair accessibility: It is located on High street and has paid parking in front of the shop, which is very convenient for wheelchair users

Great local chippy. I love the Haddock goujons and chips. Friendly service. Sometimes card machine is not working which is a bummer.

Chips were good, hot & crispy, etc, though less than generous in portion size. They don't know or don't want to know that if you use a microwave to heat a beef & mince pie the pastry will become gooey & translucent. I left all the pastry for it was inedible. When I pointed this out to the staff they first ignored me & then became verbally abusive, toild lies about not using the oven as an alternative, because it would take "hours" [sic] to heat. This is nonsense. I was polite & requested a gesture on their part but this was repeatedly ignored, but I kept reminding them politely of their responsibility to compensate me for serving inedible food. The unresponsive staff morphed into verbal abuse mode, adding an absurd claim that 30 years of working in the industry meant that they knew how to cook. All this means is that for 30 years they have been doing it all wrong. I told them that I would go online with this issue. Only then did they budge & belatedly grant my request for a gesture/compensation: I had £2 knocked off the bill but still left with a sense that these people are arrogant and have no sense of how to deal with a legitimate complaint in a fair & polite way. Once they escalated the abuse, the entire room of customers could hear & witness the situation
