Only reviewing after comparing to the store in Middleton, Manchester. Unlike them, the staff here can be dismissive and rude. They do say people up north are friendlier.

The store is heavily shortstaffed and the staff is too slow.
Always long wait, the staff is not trained to so if anyone?s click and collecting to save time
You?ll have to get in the queue of 10 people and wait for your turn even if you are collecting something you ordered an hour ago!
Really not worth clicking and collecting
Screwfix are the best for quick shopping

Worst toolstation we have been to they don?t even deserve one star the super visor was highly unprofessional and arrogant me and my husband had visited the branch to return our air cooler which we bought just 3 days before and we had told him the reason that it stops working in between and it started to give hot air instead of cool air and he refused to return it without any reason given to us which unacceptable. I mean if you don?t wanna return it At least be polite about it.

A Moment of Real Service ? Thank You, Sean at Toolstation Heathrow
The phone rang at 7:48 PM. It was home. I was told the only toilet had just failed. The waste pipe was leaking somewhere behind boxed-in panels, and a guest was arriving in under two hours to stay for two nights. I felt the panic rise instantly.
By sheer luck, I realised I was just around the corner from Toolstation Heathrow. They were closing at 8. I got there at 7:50, with no idea what exactly was broken, no measurements, just the urgency of a situation that couldn?t wait.
At the counter were two staff. One was Sean. I had seen him before. I remembered him being very clear with other customers, saying he didn?t like being asked what to buy. Fair enough. But now that I was the one unprepared, I felt uneasy that he was the one serving.
I asked for six items that I thought might help. Sean checked and said some were out of stock. I told him I didn?t have time to go home and inspect. If I left and came back, the shop would be closed. We would still have no working toilet when the guest arrived.
He looked at me for a moment. Then he said, ?You probably won?t need all six. Let me think about what?s most likely to help.? That pause told me everything. This wasn?t a policy moment. He was actually thinking about my situation.
He picked out four items and told me, ?Most likely, just two of these will do the job.? There was no pressure. No sales talk. Just calm, helpful action. It was nearly closing time, but he still gave his full attention. I could tell he was doing it because he knew it mattered.
I thanked him and said that honestly, I had hesitated before about approaching him. He explained that some people constantly misused time by asking endless questions, buying too much, then returning most of it. It slowed down the line and put people with real emergencies in a difficult spot.
Then he said something that stayed with me. ?When someone leaves the shop and doesn?t get the one thing they truly needed because someone else overbought... that doesn?t sit right with me. Not just as staff. As a person.? I heard the weight behind his words.
He then told me something unexpected. He recognised me and said I had been coming to that Toolstation for years. ?You?ve always been polite and clear,? he said. ?This is a real situation. Of course I?ll help.? That moment felt quietly respectful and sincere.
I got home and opened the boxing. Just like Sean had said, two of the four items solved the problem. No waste. No guessing. He wasn?t just helpful. He was right.
The next day, I returned the unused items. Not just to get money back, but because what Sean said had made sense. Buying only what you truly need keeps products available for others, just like I needed them the night before. It was a small act, but it felt right.
Where I once saw him as firm or inflexible, I now saw structure and care. Sean?s tone wasn?t cold. It was clear. He knew when to draw a line and when to make space for genuine service. That was a rare kind of judgment.
Toolstation is lucky to have someone like him. And honestly, so was I.
