This place is amazing. Everyone with kids in all of London should go here. Incredible experience

Great concept and staff are very attentive, but the quality of the food served is really poor. Unfortunately it felt like a ripoff

Treated us to the science afternoon tea or my 50th birthday. The settings were beautiful, modern and relaxed, the staff were attentive but not intrusive and the food itself was gorgeous with special little touches to make it more memorable.
I even had a little extra birthday surprise delivered by the staff, that was very much appreciated.
Highly recommend.

Fun experience; something a little different from the norm and it should be said that the staff were excellent and the food was of a reasonable quality. Be aware, though: you will probably end up paying somewhere in the region of £150 to £250 and you aren?t paying for the food or even the experience; you?re paying for the fact that you?re sitting in an upmarket hotel in an upmarket part of London. If you?re a millionaire, fine, but if you?re not, then it?s really not worth it. Take your kids to the Science Museum where entry is free and they have actual science (as opposed to just pouring some liquids into some other liquids), then hit up a Costa Coffee where you don?t have to take out a second mortgage to pay for your food.

Good experience, not great. Making science lemonade at the beginning was fun. But we were hoping for a little more science throughout the meal. Savory food was phenomenal. Sweets were just ok. Price is comparable to high end teas, approx $300 euro for our family of four.

This is definitely geared towards kids, especially under about 12. The tea is actually quite good, as is the rest of the pre-fixe afternoon tea menu, but this is really for children to enjoy a science-themed meal that would otherwise be a traditional afternoon tea.

I visited Friday 8/8/2025 around 3pm. We got seated without a reservation which was unexpected. The food and tea were really good. The service should have been better for what they?re charging. Our waiter seemed to really hate his job. It felt like he resented me and my family for eating there.

This is one of my kids who are 5, 10, and 12 (and my) favorite experiences in London. We have done both this one and the Jurassic tea here and they were so fun. The kids will love all the special moments built into serving the menu. The service is kind and accommodating . The bonus fun is the cocktail pairing with some more fun science influence. I like that the science tea is upstairs so you get some nice natural light. Great location near the science museum as well so a great way to have a themed day. Don't miss it!

Wow, what an incredible experience to have with your child!!! The staff were so attentive and go above and beyond to make your dining experience one to remember for a lifetime. Thank you so very much everything!

This is a pricey experience but kids did enjoy it. Atmosphere is very classy and location is good as we got to explore some of South Kensington which was cool. Keep in mind that although it is called afternoon tea it's a full meal so I would get a time around lunch (we ate lunch prior and that was a mistake).

Exceptional Vegetarian & Vegan Afternoon Tea Experience , I recently visited the Ampersand Hotel with my family for the Science Afternoon Tea?my first time in London and my first experience with an afternoon tea. As a vegetarian and vegan, I was delighted by the attentive service from our server named Nik, who was very kind and also suggested best dishes in the menu and took the time to explain my options in detail. His recommendations were excellent, and his warm hospitality made our visit truly memorable. The vegan offerings were creative and delicious, adding to the wonderful experience. Highly recommended for anyone seeking a thoughtful and high-quality vegetarian/vean afternoon tea!

The tea was excellent and the food was mostly good, but with some items that were only okay. The interactive science elements were fun, but a little more simple than I expected. For the price we paid it was a little bit disappointing, but it was a good experience overall.

We came on a Sunday afternoon, the tables were sat really close together so felt crowded, hot and noisy in the room. Service was good, but the scones were not good, they were very dry and did not taste fresh at all. Our son loved his tray however and the rolls for the adults were ok. It was just v disappointing given it is hyped up so much on socials.
