Carrying on the sad tradition of terrible customer service in Britain is this store!Sadly seemingly run solely buy a very unfriendly and rude elderly woman I hardly see any different staff there anymore.Used to be a very friendly and helpful young man that works there but sadly he left so now customers like me are faced with this very moody and unpleasent woman. If she's having a good day she might try to pretend to be friendly but you can tell she's very disingenuous. But if she's had a bad day look out as she's going to take it out on you so if your coming here I suggest trying the self services with a much more friendly and professional experience than the human. Will be meeting the manager soon regarding her attitude and also writing to head office about her.Avoid her at all costs unless rudeness is your thing.Raised her voice at meWon't happen again because I won't go there !Hope you don't either !

They now sell some manga here and have redone a lot of the store, so they now sell a much larger range of books, alongside the stationary, cards, newspapers, and drinks and snacks that they have always had.

Went to buy some books and stationary. Angela served me- told me the book offers and helped me with getting the things I was looking for. I received excellent service. Good selection of books and study materials. Really big area for cards. Has stationeries and sweets! Highly recommend.

Good selection of cards hence reason for visit (and the 1 star), HOWEVER horrible manager who clearly hasn't been to charm school, hiding behind her screen and barking orders. No greeting, no delight at having a rare customer in the shop - dont know why they bother staying open if so ungrateful for customers. Maybe it's a corporate training/directive issue as the ruislip manor branch quickly fell out of favour and closed.Personally, you'd be better going to the newsagents or post office a few doors down for cards or to the works for stationary - at least these shops are staffed by pleasant people who are appreciative to have your custom in such tough times. If you really must shop here, avoid midweek and try saturday when they are usually staffed by happy kids enjoying the experience.

WH Smith Ruislip is listed on the DHL website as being a drop off/mailing point for DHL letters/parcels. Two young ladies were left in charge of the shop, hadn't been trained and had absolutely no idea what to do. Not their fault - but very bad service.
