So incredibly slow service. Staff are regularly socialising at front of long queues. Take a fold-up chair with you, you?ll need it.

Staff were so friendly

Always close early and open late and have the social skills of neanderthals. Steer clear.

Worst service and they over charge for postage, stay away from this place!

I went to this post office to post a parcel. The man at the till asked me to put the parcel on the scale. As I went to do so, I noticed that the scale was reading 15 (grams). I put my parcel on. He told me what my parcel supposedly weighed and how much I would have to pay. I asked him to stop a minute, took off my parcel and the scale again read 15 grams. I told him the scale appeared to be pre-set to 15 grams. He said "something must be touching it" and ran his hand around the scale. I got the impression that he knew (as I could see) that nothing was touching the scale. The scale still read 15 grams. He then pressed a button on his side of the scale which took the scale back to zero. He then said it was all sorted. I returned my parcel to the scale and it weighed less than the first time and obviously cost less than he had initially said. It seemed to me that the scale had been deliberately set to weigh 15 grams more for parcels put on it. Very disappointing!

I have lived nearby this place for 25 years now as well as seen several owners flow through it over these same years. Lovely little shop, full of every type of knick knack you probably ever would need to run your household with, foods galore and the Post Office here amongst it all as well. Great.Run very well and Officially by Asian and Indian Families over the years many of the locals shop here. Pre covid open all hours but clipped well back now during the plague it is also a food shop so can remain open and does as its an essential service to all of us Pensioners ( and that includes little old me as well these days too and all! ) and the local community for several miles around. Is just up the road from Gidea Park Railway Station and on the 294 bus route in both directions. You can do all your banking, licencing, bills paid, well, most of all that banking stuff here.

Thought it may improve with some new occupants and 'refurb' but no! Awful, uncaring, rude 'service'. Great example of how a 'high street' can become dead.

Wanted to find out if they did ID checking before I made my journey as I found out my local post office doesn?t offer that service and didn?t want to make the journey into Romford. I telephoned twice. Both times my call wasn?t answered. Call rang until it rang off!!!!! Zero customer rating!! Wouldn?t let me post without clicking one star!

I've been using this Post Office for at least 30 years and never had any reason to complain. The staff are very friendly and helpful. Best Post Office I've ever used. Kaz

I don't understand some of the other reviews here, never had any issues. Staff have always been friendly and helpful.

I only visited this post office to collect a parcel that was delivered while I was out and required my ID. I don?t go into this post office if I can possibly help it. Not only is the service extremely slow, the staff are rude and ignorant. You can feel the atmosphere while you are waiting, for a very long time. There is no greeting from the staff, no smiles, no please or thank you, no goodbye. Why the hell people go in and give them custom is beyond me. The staff at the nearby post office on Brentwood Road are so very friendly and helpful, take your custom there people. Having lived in Gidea Park for nearly 20 years my experience with locals has always been very pleasant and people talk to each other. This post office on Station Road has the science of a morgue, don?t give these rude, arrogant people your custom!

I avoid this post office and shop as much as I can. Rude staff who don't even acknowledge your there, always on the phone. I once went in to get gas top up and when I put it in my card reader, the money wasn't on there. I then had the hassle of ringing British gas and waiting for them to put the credit on but I had to top my card up a few times before I got the money. Such aggravation. Too busy on the phone to concentrate on what he was doing. I've been warned a few times by various different people of the cash machine outside the shop aswell so I always withdraw money from inside at the post office if I'm really desperate.

I went to this post office early this morning to post a parcel. I could see that the woman behind the counter was clearly under it with sacks of parcels to label. However she stopped what she was doing and was polite, friendly and beyond helpful to me and gave me great advice on the best options for parcel post to the Irish Republic. I would not normally be reviewing a post office but this lady made my day with her lovely approach to her customers. It was a lovely way to start the day. Keep up the good work Station Road post office Gidea park. You made my day!
