Shout out to Jack
I had a great experience shopping at Home Bargains in Romford, and I want to give a special shout-out to Jack for his outstanding customer service. From the moment I approached him with a concern, he handled the situation professionally and with genuine care. It?s clear that Jack takes pride in his work and puts customers first.
He was excellent at handling a minor conflict that arose at the checkout, remaining calm, polite, and focused on resolving the issue quickly and fairly. His communication was clear, and he made sure everyone involved felt heard and respected. You don?t always get that level of maturity and professionalism in retail, so it definitely stood out.
Jack also went above and beyond to help me locate a product I was struggling to find, saving me time and frustration. He really knows the store well and seems happy to assist wherever needed.
Overall, Jack is a credit to the Home Bargains team in Romford. Great customer service, strong problem-solving skills, and a friendly, helpful attitude ? great stuff all around. I?ll definitely be returning to this location, and it?s staff like Jack that make all the difference. Keep up the great work!

I?m writing this review to express my serious concern about the lack of age verification at this store.
Recently, my child was able to purchase a product clearly marked for individuals over the age of 18 without any questions or checks from the staff. The item, which was completely inappropriate for their age, was sold without verifying their ID or even asking about their age.
It?s extremely worrying that a store catering to the public would be so careless when it comes to enforcing age restrictions on certain products. As a parent, this is the kind of situation we work hard to avoid, trusting that stores will follow basic legal and ethical standards.
I strongly urge the management to enforce stricter policies and train their staff to properly verify the age of customers purchasing age-restricted items. Until these changes are made, I cannot recommend this store to families. This kind of oversight is not only irresponsible but potentially harmful.

I purchased a photo frame today, the cashier noticed it had a flaw, an assistant was called and she bought a replacement to the till, this too has a small flaw, she said not to worry she would sort it, and sort it she did 5* customer service ??

Cashier scanned an item twice. Checking over my receipt at home I am shocked and understanding the store was busy however this was an expensive item real shame.

I went in here and found full shelves of essentials, Xmas range and home and garden items. Got some great ideas for Christmas and birthday gifts!

Allough this home bargains is local to me and is always well stocked and clean great bargains to be had and excellent money for money
I was shopping today it one of the busiest stores and I accidentally knocked and smashed a jar with Santa legs a manger came over and her auttuide was disgusting straight on the headset asking for a broom saying another idiot customer glass everywhere I apologised at least 4 times and all I got was a mumble disgusting also another female colleague sweeping the floor with a dry noodle mop and wouldn?t move out of the way or say thank you when I stopped to let her pass just made me walk straight through her pile of rubbish on two separate occasions the staff on tills don?t smile or say Anthing just beep beep your items through cash or card very unfriendly will use eastern avenue in future as all the staff team are absolutely full of beans and happy to serve you lush customer service avoid market place home bargains

Good shop,bad workers, the workers won't even let a group of teenagers in without thinking they will steal, especially the ones in Nike tech fleece, some of them are good people but the staff always think they steal when they go in the shop
