This is our 5th year at Ingrebourne Links and I must admit I had booked it with some trepidation. It was difficult to organise this year with the then new golf manager Adam but eventually we got to a point where both parties were reasonably happy. Also with the course being so hard because of the long wispy rough starting extremely close to the edge of the fairway and all of us in my society (which is in its 38th year) are ageing it was just getting too difficult.
WHAT A REVELATION.
I arrived at reception to be greeted by the most helpful and friendly receptionist. I apologise profusely for forgetting her name. What a charming person.
We had a full English breakfast upstairs served by Inda the catering manager and his staff. It was cooked to perfection although far too much for us to eat.
I was also met on the stairs by Dominic, the General Manager and the very new golf manager Luke who you were coming up to introduce to me.
What a great guy Luke is. So helpful and nothing was too much for him in order to make our day as perfect as possibly. It really did seem like a breath of fresh air & a great way to start the day. I normally put our own markers for Nearest the Pins but he insisted on taking them to get the marshall to put on the relevant holes.
As normal I was in the 1st group and went to the 1st tee on our allotted time. I immediately noticed something different & it took a few moments to see what it was. The course had a 1st cut of rough which looked and indeed was very playable. This was quite wide on either side of the fairway and gave everyone in the group far more confidence both off the tee and throughout the course. Apart from all the group agreeing how much more enjoyable it was to play we all got round at least 30 minutes quicker than anytime previous. During my round I met one of the marshalls and voiced this to him especially how much quicker it was. He explained the 1st cut had been introduced at the beginning of the year and also said don?t worry too much about your timings as you?re all here to enjoy yourselves. Quite amazing from my point of view.
As all the groups finished and we started showering I heard so many of our guys saying how much they had enjoyed playing the course this year.
After showering & getting changed I couldn?t find the keys to my car and both Luke & Sian helped out tremendously and in the end they were found. So sorry to take up so much of their time.
Due to this dinner was a little late but it didn?t seem to faze anyone & Sian actually stayed on to serve us even though her day should have finished much earlier.
The food was one of the best, if not the best dinner we?ve had this year. So well cooked and tasty. Donna, the chef came out later to make sure we had enjoyed our meal. Another wonderful addition to your team.
All the catering and bar staff were so friendly and helpful.
Your receptionist, Luke, Sian, Indo and Donna made our day really memorable and there is no doubt I will be booking another day for next season.
I have no hesitation in recommending your club to anyone who?ll listen.
The course is in fabulous condition no doubt due to your own fairway watering system and quality of greenstaff.
Dominic, thank you so much for all your help in making our day so memorable and please convey my thanks to everyone at Ingrebourne Links.

Great links type course. In superb condition. Good green , tee boxes and fairways. Front nine tight with gorse bushes lining the fair ways.

A solid experience, nothing particularly remarkable.

I hosted a prom here and could not have had a better time. The bar staff were lovely dealing with such a large number of students and the venue looked amazing especially with the high windows. Sian was the best event organiser you could ask for being very attentive and willing to make any adaptations we had. I couldn?t recommend this place more for events!!

The staff need training on basics when laying out food for a buffet, its poor supervision if they allow cheese and tomato sanwiches to be mixed with tuna mayo sanwiches on the same tray. With a quick glance I assumed that it was smoked salmon with cream cheese, only to find on checking that they were all cheese and tomato! Please train your staff that you keep meat, fish and vegetarian options completely separate

I love the main golf course it's immaculate and an interesting challenge if you can keep it straight off the tee.
The staff are great at the club and the driving range, the technology on the range has been a little hit and miss for me and if not working is overpriced.
The mini links is a great challenge considering it's so short.
, historically it's been quite good but the tracer technology has not worked properly for some time. Without the technology working the range is overpriced.
The staff are friendly

We would fully recommend the Ingrebourne Links Golf and Country, we held our father's funeral wake here which was attended by over 200 people. Sian was helpful beyond question, from the point of booking to the end of the reception and her team were also very good. The food and its presentation was outstanding, we had so many compliments from our visitors, and the views across the course were beautiful on the sunny day that it was. We can't thank you all enough for making a sad occasion worry and trouble free for mum, Bill and myself.
Regards

We recently had our wedding reception at Ingrebourne Links and it was absolutely perfect. The staff were incredible, the food was delicious and Sian Ross was a huge help from the very beginning. We could not have asked for any more and they truly made our day perfect. Would 100% recommend to anyone who would like to host a party/wedding.

This course is the best in Essex by a long way. Very challenging when the wind is up. It?s a shame they run this whole place as a cooperate club everything is separated. The food is also terrible and clubhouse is more like an office.

Played the main course many times. Always in good condition and a challenge. Mini links is also a good test of short game and a nice practice option. Very friendly welcoming staff. Lunch options are presented nicely but actually not as tasty as other local courses - sandwich / panini etc.

Recently used the function room for my dear Mums wake. Lovely venue great events manager. Lovely food and plenty of it. Comfortable clean and great staff. We weren?t restricted time wise which is also great. Very pleased over all. Thank you
