This company is a SCAM they accept my order on Deliveroo then change it to collection only , then they told me to make a new order they will cancel the only one
I then tried to make a new order and they reject me because apparently I am to far away from them or restaurant so I had to make a new order from a new restaurant? Completely a big SCAM! They just want to take money

It?s the first time I have used Golden Orient and it certainly will not be the last.
Food was ordered online and delivered, piping hot, after just 15 minutes by a very pleasant young lady.
Everything was clearly cooked fresh to order and there was no greasiness or stodginess anywhere. My crispy spring rolls were absolutely delicious and both the Singapore Fried Rice and Szechuan King Prawns superb by takeaway standards, with nice levels of spice (nothing is ever hot enough for me) and impeccable ingredients, bursting with flavour.
Prices are not bad at all; I have finally found a good Chinese in Purley. In fact, it?s better than good - it?s excellent.

We were recommended by a friend saying how good the food was, and they probably had a good night with their food. Our order was not pleasant at all. The beef chow mein was very chewy, the egg fried rice was like a slab when serving with orange bits in which probably was the egg, and the crispy chilli beef lived up to its name, it was too crispy and very brittle. not happy at all for the price we paid.

I had the most horrendous experience at Golden Orient Chinese Takeaway that compelled me to write this review. As a frequent customer, I've always enjoyed their food and service, but what transpired during my recent visit was utterly unacceptable.On Thursday, 28th September 2023, I placed an order as usual. However, this time, the quality of the food I received was shockingly subpar. Expecting a resolution to this issue, I decided to contact the restaurant and express my concerns. Little did I know that this simple act would lead to a nightmarish encounter with the front-of-house staff, particularly a woman who identified herself as Helena, then Hay, and later another name.My attempt to address the food quality issue was met with complete disrespect and indifference. Helena, or whatever her real name is, displayed a complete disregard for customer values and showed a shocking lack of professionalism. When I pointed out the issues with my order, her response was nothing short of outrageous.She not only refused to acknowledge the problems with the food but also dismissed my concerns callously. Her words were both offensive and deeply hurtful. She told me that if I had a problem, I should come to the shop. When I requested a replacement or a refund, she flatly refused, saying, "If you don't like the food, then don't eat it."This level of customer service is not only appalling but also inexcusable. It's disheartening to see a restaurant I've trusted and frequented for so long tolerate such behaviour from its staff. The front-of-house team at Golden Orient Chinese Takeaway needs urgent retraining on how to treat customers with respect and professionalism.Despite this terrible experience, I want to believe that it does not represent the values of the restaurant as a whole. However, if such incidents continue, it's inevitable that Golden Orient Chinese Takeaway will lose many loyal customers as they have now lost me as a customer.In conclusion, my recent visit to Golden Orient Chinese Takeaway was marred by a complete lack of customer care and respect. I sincerely hope that the management addresses this issue promptly and takes corrective action to prevent such experiences in the future. As of now, I'm left deeply disappointed and disturbed by this encounter and do not recommend this restaurant until significant changes are made in the front-of-house service and quality of food.

Ordered in Uber, the quantity is great, delivered on time and the price is affordable but the taste is awful, especially the chicken fried rice. Bad odour and the quality of rice is very bad. My intention is not to defame the restaurant but want to help fellows out.

Ordered via just-eat. Food arrived in time. All food was cooked nicely and had flavour. They don?t do the crispy chips but these were tasty. Sweet and sour is on the sour side but my family prefer this.
