This is not a reflection on the manager Chris who is very professional and knows his stuff. However there is a coloured assistant, young looking who also claims to be a manager. She is just about the most obnoxious cashier I have come across in a bookies.
Firstly when walking in she was on the phone, making a personal call and I requested a coupon. She wasn't concentrating carried on with her phone call and kept me waiting. She printed the wrong coupon off and she then had the temerity to suggest I did not make it clear what coupon I wanted!!! Well there is only one DDHH coupon at Freds!
The second time was when I had to go there to pick up a £2k win. My local didn't have the money to pay me out so rang the win through to palmers green. I went to pick up the winnings and same cashier was there slammed two wedges of £1k in £20 notes on the counter. Said that I had to count the winnings as mistakes cannot be rectified. So there I was sat in the middle of the bookies counting out £2k in front of the bemused locals.
Despite being multi billion pound companies bookmakers seem to attract people who are devoid of communication skills, and basic manners. They might actually attract proper punters into their branches if they worked on this aspect of their service.
If I get this sort of reaction next time I walk in there I think I will make a call to HO and ask to speak to a director.
