Some staff in there are very helpful and nice but there is one in there that is not. My very last visit I was spoken to rudely and not nicely.

AVOID BUYING FROM CEX ONLINE! Fraudulent. I ordered headphones, it said there is 1 left in stock for delivery. It got to the stock picking stage which lasted for about 3 days before it said complete. I contacted general customer support through Facebook to ask when my item would be dispatched. I was told the store (Orpington) has deemed it as unfit for sale and that my order would be cancelled if they couldn't find another product the same from another shop to replace it with. I asked why it was on the website and classed as grade B for sale if this is the case (unfit for sale). To which I was then told some items are for sale exclusively in store and show online so customers can check stock ?. Why is it available to buy online under 'we sell' for delivery then!? No where does it state or mention in store pickup only. My purchase was allowed to go through and my money was taken. I've not as yet received a reply to this question but I have received an order cancellation email stating that the product couldn't be sourced and so dispatch was unable to be processed! So which is it? Unfit for sale, in store only or missing/lost and unsourcable? How about non existant? It's clear these are a bunch of false excuses as not one reply has stated the same reason or had a decent answer for me. They couldn't even apologise for this inconvenience and huge disappointment. They're unable to tell me why they can't send me my goods for which I have paid for and still received no refund. The email states a 10 day wait for refunds when they are processed. This is unacceptable considering it seems my money shouldn't have been taken in the first place. And to top it all off, the second I received the cancellation email, the item was straight back up for sale on the website for delivery! (See screenshot).
This has left me with only one conclusion. They are using false listings to take peoples money and hold it for as long as possible in order to steal/make interest on it. I'm now left incredibly disappointed with no headphones and no money! The phone number supplied on Google for this store has a recording which redirects you to Facebook and twitter where there is no contact for the store directly. Save your money and buy elsewhere!

Couple weeks ago I came in with my 6 year old daughter to buy a switch game. 2 of the tills were busy as they were serving. There was one person free on the end till on his phone, with a jumper made by the brand "childish". I was the only one waiting in line. He saw me, fully made eye contact, smiled at me. Rather than assisting me. He leaves the counter and goes outside. I waited a couple of minutes till I was served once I leave the shop He is outside still smiling like a freak on his phone while vaping. Truly displeased by the behaviour of this person. Is he here to work or is he getting paid to vape?As an ex worker in retail I expect strict action to be taken immediately!

I love this shop. I buy and sell here sometimes and the prices and quality of items are great. Plus you get 2 years warranty on everything. Would definitely recommend.

My local CEX is Bromley but on occasion due to fleeting stock levels or poor decision on my part I have been forced to go here instead of my local.Let me save you some time, DO NOT BOTHER.I checked stock online before I travelled to the store and was over the moon to find they actually had the item in stock. Of course, as most people know that means absolutely nothing when dealing with the Orpington Branch. On arrival I was ignored whilst standing at the front desk by an employee who was quite clearly doing nothing, but ignored me none the less... when he did eventually acknowledge me, I asked for the item, knowing it was in stock and was met with the blank stare of a confused chimp, he had no idea what I meant until I further explained what I wanted and physically pointed at the item in the glass case.I then stood at the front desk while 3 employees had what could only be described as a meeting behind the glass case, a little bit of tidying up and then ducking down thinking I couldn't see them (I could, of course). A good 10 minutes pass and the original employee returns with the item and then disappears again after questioning the contents of the box. Great. More waiting.He then returns and explains that a cable is broken, confirmed by who I assume is the manager of the store, barely out of the womb. You see, a member of staff, yes, a member of the store staff had swapped out a controller and not told anyone, imagine that! £50 of stock ruined by someone not saying something to whoever needed to know. A wasted journey, a gift not given nor received and not so much as an apology.I don't really understand how CEX can pride themselves on their customer service when their franchise managers hire absolute morons who have no idea what they're selling or any sense of business acumen.You're pissing money away gentlemen, not to mention wasting customers time.Do better.

CEX Orpington is one of the larger stores if abit tucked away. You will find more hardware here than most other stores and a nice selection of DVD's and console games. Most hardware accessories like controllers and some consoles are reasonably priced.

I am trying to get hold of someone. The iPhone I got in December the screen has popped off! I can?t find my receipt from the Orpington branch.
