I visited the Boots store on Orpington High Street today/ June 29th Sunday (and also yesterday June 28th Saturday ), and both times I had a very disappointing experience with one of the staff members, who I later found out is the store manager named John. He was wearing a sky blue polo shirt.
Today, I went in to buy a Band-Aid and approached John to ask where it was. Right away, I noticed he looked very unhappy and gave off a negative vibe, like he didn?t want to be asked anything or deal with customers. He didn?t smile, didn?t greet me, and just seemed like he didn?t want to be there. Thankfully, a kind female staff member stepped in and helped me find the Band-Aids. She was polite, friendly, and very helpful ? the complete opposite of John.
After walking around the store to look at a few more things, I bumped into John again and asked him about sunglasses and sunglasses cases. Once again, he looked annoyed and acted like I was bothering him. No smile, no eye contact, no proper response ? just a cold and unwelcoming attitude.
What made this worse is that I also went to the same store yesterday and had a similar bad experience. I asked John about a new deodorant from Sure, and again, he didn?t acknowledge me properly or show any interest in helping. He looked miserable both times and gave no sign of good customer service.
Before leaving today, I spoke to a staff member at the cashier named Frankie. I shared my concerns with her about the manager?s behaviour. She understood and was very apologetic. She was very polite and friendly, and she gave me a warm smile as I paid, which I really appreciated. It was a refreshing contrast to the experience I had with John.
Honestly, it?s very disappointing to have a store manager act this way. He should be setting an example for others, but instead, his attitude makes customers feel uncomfortable and unwelcome. Boots is known for good service, so this experience was both surprising and frustrating.
I hope the company takes this feedback seriously because customers deserve to be treated with respect and kindness ? especially by someone in a management position.

Came in for the simple task of printing a photo. The first Cewe Machine failed to work, the second was temperamental, and I had to go to a third to print. I'm a very tech capable person, however these machines are barely responsive and very user unfriendly.
Whilst this was going on I was effectively being pestered by the staff to get out because they wanted to close. Ultimately I arrived in plenty of time and it's not my fault as a customer that a 2 minute exercise is taking over 20 because of the poor quality machines. They made me feel like it was inconvenient to them.
After all this the photos were terrible quality and the machine cut off part of it.
An absolute disgrace and shows why the High Street is in crisis.

No staff, only one on the till, no self service tills. Just left to queue and queue like we have nothing else to do! And the one serving really couldn't be bothered!

PARTICULAR thanks to security guard today (Thursday 13th June morning), who helped me find my husband when I mislaid him! He found me several spare husbands before the right one, all handled sensitively and politely. Thank you ( Small elderly couple)

Just got a vaccine done for travelling - Joseph was amazing. Very thorough and informative and listened.
I am not good with needles, he put my mind at ease and was an excellent injection - didn't feel a thing!

Lady who served us for click and collect was very sweet. After picking it up we had a look around the store where the security guard followed us around the shop and interrogated me and my 11 year old sister at the door accusing us of not putting everything back.

Horrible experience. Rude and unbothered members of staff. Security guard sits next to me the entire time because i had my gym bag with me ? He even asked to look inside the bag after watching me the entire time. Embarrassing.

Boots Orpington hight street, sort your security guard out. I am a law abiding citizen, and your security guard made me feel very uncomfortable. I came into your store on the 27.12.23 with my child. We came to look at the sales items, but couldn't find the item that I was looking for. Therefore, we began walking to the exit, no purchases made. Your security guard is right by the door, so customers have to pass him when exiting. As I was passing him, he came closer and leaned his whole body over to peer into the tote bag that I was carrying on my shoulder. The tote bag that I was carrying in case I made purchases in any shops. He was clearly checking for stolen goods, but I had none! I am not a thief, and didn't do anything suspicious to make myself look like one. I simply checked the sale aisle and then began to leave the shop after not finding what I wanted. Even my child noticed and told me that the security guard had looked into my bag. It was degrading and he had no right to do so. I was so shocked that I didn't even say anything to him, I just carried on and left the shop. I won't be coming back either, not when I was made to feel like a thief when I'm not one!In the past, I've seen him staring at innocent shoppers too. He's also followed another innocent woman down to the end of the store and watched her. She showed him that she was no thief, and he promptly left her alone.He seems to pick on the women. He's truly awful at his job.Update. I just read some other reviews on here, and another person has also left a review about your awful security guard! He is definitely ruining your store.
