Had soup today in the cafe at a glacial rate of service. Some customers were being given the wrong food orders. I was expecting soup to be a quick meal. Also butter pats by a bowl of hot soup does not go well.

We have been buying groceries at waitrose all these time. The general vibe and quality of goods has been great so far. However, it's inevitable that we need to give a one-star review because of a major incident that the waitrose employee discriminates and being outrageously racist against us. We expect that waitrose to treat all customers with the same standard and resolve this matter urgently. We went to the waitrose to buy a grocery with one bottle of alcohol and a lot of other stuffs. We come with three people; two of us have physical ID cards and the other one (the oldest one) has a virtual ID. The employee claimed that they need to have a physical ID in order to proceed with the purchase even though the person with the virtual ID is not even looking close to 25 years old (literally already married and 34 years old). The waitrose employees claims that they need to check everyone's physical ID so we end up not buying it which is fine to us as long as they treat everyone with the same standard. However, the guy next to us buying the alcohol does not have the ID. Appearance-wise, the only difference between us is just he is in different races. The employee intentionally ignores us when we raise this issue and just let the person buy the alcohol without checking the physical ID.We are fine not being able to buy the alcohol as long as the waitrose treat all the customer equally without discriminating against races and any other characteristics. We are taking this issue seriously since this kind of treatment delivers terrible experience for both waitrose and other customers.FYI, we visit the groceries around 1:30-2pm on March 1, 2024 if that helps waitrose identify the misuse of the waitrose guideline. Please note that we do not intend to find false on anyone. However, to us, this is a serious matter. We expect waitrose to act on this immediately with the main intent that we really do not want this incident to happen to anyone else again.

We dropped by at Waitrose to buy a few groceries such as fruits, vegetables, and a bottle of alcohol, etc however as one of the items we were purchasing had an over 18-year restriction the employee needed to authorise the purchase to enable us to pay. She asked for ID which two of us have been able to provide physical proof, unfortunately, the oldest of us (34 years old and married) doesn?t have it with him but he has a picture/image saved on his phone. The staff advised that due to their company policies, we couldn?t proceed with purchasing the alcohol and refused to listen to our reasoning. In the end, we continued to pay the rest of our groceries (without the alcohol) thus couldn?t help but notice that the person next to our till had the same problem (purchasing age-restricted items with no ID) but the staff enabled him to proceed with the purchase, and swiftly walk away before we can raise a question. We have been getting our groceries at Waitrose all these years, and sadly we need to give them at least one star (personally it should be negative) due to the employee's lack of compassion and made us feel discriminated. I find it outrageous at this day and age to come across this situation as human rights have been proactive and effective for past years.Hopefully with this review, Waitrose will look into this issue and start treating all customers equally and with the same standard.

Was asked for ID to buy one pack of paracetamol with my food shopping. I am a 30 year old man. Was refused sale by cheeky rude staff. Worlds gone mad.

We usually do our grocery shopping at Waitrose and Marks & Spencer. However, my aunt recently tried a home delivery service via Uber, and we were disappointed with the quality of the food we received. Some items had a one-day expiry date, and the cheese had mould growth the next day. We pay premium prices for our groceries and expect good quality, so this is unacceptable.

This waitrose use to be good, usually they have all the items when you do an online order, today I did an online order on ubereats, the ubereats driver stole my shopping I've reported it to Ubereats still waiting for a refund.I don't know who is picking the items for online orders it's not great they are missing the orders, I know this waitrose very well they are big on stock for them to not have the items in stock, did the member of staff picking the items for online orders check in the warehouse or on the handset if the items was in stock?I would of given this waitrose a 5 star however the delivery for online orders is switched off to early it never use to be like this a few times when I've tried to place an online order.

Good supermarket, although in the late afternoon the vegetable section is often half empty. It would be good it they could refill it in the mid-afternoon. In any case, this is a nice supermarket with many good products.

As a regular customer at Waitrose, I appreciate the friendly and helpful staff. However, the recurring problem with dysfunctional Label Printing Weighing Scales at the fruits and vegetables corners has started to impact my experience. The convenience of self-checkout is often compromised, as these scales are frequently out of order, forcing customers into long counters lines. While the staff apologizes for the inconvenience, I hope that the store management takes more proactive measures to address this ongoing issue, ensuring a smoother shopping process for customers.
