A lovely little independent café, run by a lady who does it all?serving quality coffee, baked goods, and brunch. The space is fairly big, with wooden furniture that adds a warm touch (though not the most comfortable)

Overpirce rolls and pastisserie. Coffe good at London prices (£4 and beyond).
The worst was the service of attitud, 30min before closing time at 4pm, she was already not keen on taking any customers. Was like doing us a favour when it takes 10min to drink a coffee.
Place was totally empry except 1 guy at his laptop. She does not seem to have the need to accept more customers and change that bit happy to close down ASAP...HMMM.

I just had a horrible experience with the owner. Walked in with my dog, checking first if they were dog friendly. Asked what toasties they had (referencing the board out front advertising them), I was told 'they're over there *vague gesture*' Kind of abrupt I thought, but OK. Chose the toastie I wanted but as I walked to the counter, a regular walked in and he and the owner settled in for a chat (he was waiting for someone before he was going to order). I noticed three large mason jars of dog treats. Since my dog is fussy and I didn't want to waste a) a whole bag of treats or b) money if she didn't like them...and since the convo the owner was having sounded personal (therapy topics etc...), I opened a jar and took one (1) of the smallest treats and gave it to my dog.
Well. I heard about it. A lot. I realised she had moved over and was looking at me in an annoyed manner. I apologised and said I just wanted to check if she liked one before I bought a whole bag (thinking yeah, reducing waste man, I'm into it). She said 'that's fine, but you should ask me first.' I said again that I was sorry. She continued (on front of the regular and her one other lunch customer), 'I can't let everyone who has a dog try one.' I apologised again and turned to try and look at other goods. She CONTINUED - 'I wouldn't ever sell anything then would I?' I apologised AGAIN (I was apologising sincerely/humbly). She CONTINUED 'it's not like you would normally just go into a shop and just try one of everything before you buy it, is it?' At that point I said 'o-kaaay!' And walked out. As I left she continued talking to her regular, expressing loads of sympathy for his situation.
If you find you're unable to sell stuff, I *really* suspect it may end up being your attitude/lack of customer service skills. Not a singular 1.5cm square dog treat. Give all your customers the same attention you seemed to give your young, attractive male regular and you may not be so quiet during the lunch rush.
Also my dog did not like the treat.

The toasties I?ve had from the Hand have always been on point. They make a killer chorizo and cheese one. It?s just unfortunate it?s not open that much and lacks a bit of an atmosphere

It was warm. And it didn't take long to arrive.

Amazing coffee and Greek pastries and treats

Nice place with cozy vibes and great coffee, but not ideal for working on a laptop. The Wi-Fi is quite slow, which kept interrupting my work. Also, the space is quite cold, and at some point, I had to leave because it was too chilly for me.

Best café in the area?the coffee is quite good, but the space is really special: a quiet, serene corner of the Olympic village, facing a duck pond, with lovely plants and calming music.
The owner is as calm and kind as her shop. Can?t recommend it enough!

Best coffee in London. Great staff, very helpful and friendly. I am very fussy with coffee and these guys do red brick beans, top notch stuff.

Hand has the best coffee in East village. My family have been regulars at hand for many years. We love the square mile coffee that they serve. The service is consistently good. The owner/barista/chef does an amazing job juggling everything and still finding time to talk to everyone whilst preparing food and drink with care and attention. The atmosphere and service make Hand feel like a real community cafe rather than a conveyor belt chain and that's what keeps bringing us back.
