First time visiting Mandarin and we had a wonderful evening. I was craving Chinese food and this really hit the spot! We had no reservation but called 10mins before and the staff were super friendly and warm.
We had looked at the menu beforehand & ordered the vegetarian starter plate for 2 - a great selection, and we really loved the salt&chilli broccoli, and satay skewers. I would definitely have the brocolli again! (Spring rolls could have been a little bit crispier)
Staff were attentive and warm, decor was lovely and it was a relaxing & enjoyable experience (unlike some restaurants that rush you!) We weren't rushed to order mains, and were really impressed with our black bean mock duck sizzler. We were a bit too full but have leftover Singapore noodles as takeaway.
Great veggie & vegan options with lots of range & clear labelling (sometimes very hard to come by!)
We will definitely be back.

We had a fantastic dining experience at Mandarin Northwood! The chicken and roasted duck were absolutely delicious full of flavor and cooked to perfection. A special shoutout to Praneeta, who was amazing throughout warm, attentive, and made us feel truly welcome. Highly recommend this place for anyone looking for great food and great service

Could be so much better. I went here with a group of friends. We do spend a fair amount of time eating out. Firstly, the positives- the staff are all friendly and willing. The decor is nice and the atmosphere. Food is good. Now we get to the part which really let this place down and will mean I do not return. So the menu is very confusing especially with the vegetarian and non vegetarian options. The staff working are not aware of all the dishes and the names as per the menu. Some of the people in our group ordered a shandy as they were driving but we were charged a full pint beer price, at £7 each it?s not exactly cheap. Just as the starters came out were told that the sewed in the non vegetarian starter had run out and if we would mind a substitute. At this point it?s was still early so we gave them the benefit and switch to deep fried broccoli. Finally when the starters came did come out the spare ribs were cold. I had asked for a jug of water when we ordered our drink, and I had to ask again and only got this just as the mains came out. We also had jasmine tea between 5 of us and had to wait a long time between refills. The staff were trying but unfortunately this comes down to poor management and investment from the owners. If you don?t have enough staff to handle the dinners then this will let the whole experience down. In a service industry like this it?s not often you will get many chances to win new customers. This restaurant is on the fork app and with this in mind the owners and staff should be well prepared for a busy night, especially on a Saturday. Also just to be clear, we had booked this over a week before so it?s not that we just turned up. Hopefully if you do go they will have more staff or less dinners. Some of the reviews on here will be from days when they had 50% off via the fork app so guessing they will have been quiet.

Looking into which restaurant we wanted to eat at, we took a dive into the reviews of Mandarin. We were questioning if this was the right Chinese restaurant to visit due to some bad reviews but they did not disappoint. Starting off with a Passion Fruit Martini, my palette was cleansed ready for the Wonton Soup. Delicious. Our waitress was very friendly and she also gave our table a complimentary dish of deep fried squid. Big up to her (didn?t catch her name).
Would definitely return and bring my folks there.

Absolutely disastrous experience. First people there, last to be served. Wrong food sent, most of it cold. Felt sorry for the young waitresses, and the women who was supposedly in charge was rude and disrespectful
