Prefect facility with friendly staff

Unfortunately David Lloyd has gone down hill in my opinion. Member of staff called Jose ( apparently duty manager ) very cocky and unprofessional. We pay a premium price for this club and expect a good service. My membership covers my son and I and we had a monthly guest pass. Jose refused to let my guest in as no access before 3pm. The club wasn?t busy and I just got the standard ? computer says no!? attitude and quoting T&C?s! On a power trip and no customer service attribute?s whatsoever. A friend of mine entered with a guest before 3pm and teens have been allowed access the club without a membership by paying on the desk. Shambles! The hairdryers are always faulty and gym equipment out of order for weeks. No shower gel! The plus is the cafe! Run by a nice pleasant young man who has been there for years and everyone likes him! Maybe he should manage this club!

Thank u so much Louise and also Kacey for everything u do ,u are both so understanding and kind to all of my needs and also so professional at the same time i always feel so comfortable when i ask any questions or have any needs. When i also ring up to the club they always pick up and make me feel comfortable when i ask my random questions.Petra in the Spa is amazing, she always there cleaning and making sure we all have a 5 star experience from the moment we walk in.Also would like to give a shout out to Hannah in the clubroom she always patience when i keep changing my order.

21/01/2024So, final update as have decided to cancel my membership.Sadly it hasn?t improved. I still feel the management are most likely the cause of the issues. But also the lack of training for staff and inexperience, and what appears to be little investment in staff. The final straw occurred yesterday. I took a guest to the gym. It takes a good 15 - 20 minutes to drive there from home. On the diamond membership you are entitled to one guest pass each month and are occasionally given additional passes. Upon arrival, I am told by the young lad on reception that it is not possible to use the guest pass. He explained that David Lloyd changed the policy and that guest passes could only be used after 3pm. He could not deviate from this. I asked to speak to the manager. The First Lady arrived and reeled off the same line as the lad. She explained that I would have received an email. Still dissatisfied, I asked if there was a more senior manager. She went and got the duty manager Kim. I explained to Kim that my guest and I had driven all the way there. Kim explained that there was nothing that could be done. She again said that I would have received an email. I explained that I did not receive an email. I have a lot of junk and updates from David Lloyd, but nothing explaining the change to the guest passes. I even have my original joining emails. Kim, though not saying it, I felt from the response did not believe me. She explained that there was a grace period in December (again I knew nothing of this even though I had brought my guest in throughout, but not once was the upcoming change mentioned). Kim still stood her ground and explained that no exception could be made, I would just have to turn around and take my guest and leave. Whilst I was there being turfed out, another young lady was being told exactly the same thing. She too had no idea of the rule changes. Kim then went on to explain to me that she had turned away 10 other people that morning also unaware of this change. I naturally asked that if there were ten other people unaware of the change perhaps the email had not gone through. Kim said, no they might have been members from other clubs so would not have got an email. This in my opinion is just as uncaring about their members as ever. They are still paying members coming probably from further. So this should highlight all my comments below and on here about the type of managers DL has. They do not care about long standing members and haven?t done for a while. I was here since Virgin Active whose service was better ran it. I left briefly again because of the service. But then returned when spa was built. But after the recent interactions with their management, i have cancelled. They then keep you tied in for 3 calendar months for some reason. If the club and service were great people would stay on merit. For what holds itself out as a premium gym the service does not reflect it nor the cleanliness. Not worth the money at £215 per month.Kim could have simply said yes come in. Made a note on my account that I was told and displayed good service. Instead it was better to lose a customer in her mind. No autonomy or judgement shown. When the showers don?t work they send a text. Push notifications come through. Awful.23/12/2023Updating on below, still awful value for money. Facilities pretty good. But overcrowded, and the attention to detail is pathetic. Most likely down to down to bad management and poor training. The changing rooms are still often messy. Weights are left all over the place in the gym. Because the place has too many members the car park is always rammed. There is the back car park, but they never bother opening the back reception so you have to go all the way to the front to get a towel then back again. Once they had a trolley of towels by back reception and put a sign up saying they had staffing issues. Really simple temporary fix. But never been there since.Aga the manager has been asked as have many other team members. But, as I said, no attention to detail.

Great club! First visit. Surprised at how big it is. Will definitely visit again.

The people giving positive reviews are not actual members. The place is far too busy yet they carry on taking on new members daily. There are 0 tennis courts available at any hour every day?. This is because the coaches take the courts over to make money. There is often many courts taken up by 4 years old kicking tennis balls around. Do they pay £200 per month? Regularly the machines don?t work. The Spa is lovely and the staff are all very polite and helpful. They need to focus on members who are paying! This is not a little kids club!

They?re getting more and more stingy by the day. Turns out guest passes aren?t accepted until 3pm on weekends anymore, be warned

A well thought out class timetable with lots of variety.

Very impressed at the variation on the timetable and the timings of popular classes. Tried a blaze class with Orly and it was awesome! Thank you!

Really enjoying the new timetable!! Love Blaze with Orly on Tuesday! The classes fit well around my schedule

The car park is always full there are queues and queues. I can never book a court as there are too many members and the coaches have booked 4 courts leaving only 6 courts for members. I cannot book classes either as they are always over subscribed.

Awful gym..charges are extortionate...too many people, parking awful and a very restricted guest pass use..Better gyms around that offer more facilities for better prices..

Nice club with vast area covered by tennis courts, swimming pool, etc. and a nice lounge with wide menu of dishes and wines to select from.
