I recently dined at The chicken cottage on March 25 March 2025, and it turned out to be one of the most disappointing restaurant experiences I've had.
The noise from the kitchen staff was distracting, making it hard to have a conversation.
I cannot recommend The chicken cottage based on my experience, and I hope they can address these issues for future customers.

I?m leaving this review after trying their Too Good To Go bag! Which is £4.99 for goods of up-to £15 of food items.. what I had was 3 pcs chicken, 2 wings & chips as in the photo? I don?t think they should lie that much

I placed an order through the Chicken Cottage app at this location, and it took over an hour just to be accepted. There isn?t even an option to cancel the order on the app. I tried contacting the store using the phone number listed on Google Maps, only to get an "invalid number" recording. Am I supposed to wait over an hour and a half for my food?
When the delivery guy finally arrived, he said he was from Chicken Cottage. When I complained and refused the food due to the delay, he simply left it on the road and left. Is this really how you handle food and treat customers? It seems they only care about taking money, not about serving customers properly. Orders should be reviewed promptly; if they?re delayed, the store should either accept them in a reasonable time or contact the customer. I have no idea what the branch manager is even doing. This experience was beyond disappointing. If you?re considering ordering from here, think twice.

I always had very positive experiences at this take away shop in terms of their services and good quality food. However; on 03/11/24 I bought a whole grilled chicken and it was not a top quality chicken. When I arrived the restaurant they said fresh chicken was being cooked and I was very happy. But when I reached home , I realised that the chicken was not fresh as they said. Its skins looked different and shirked, and tasted a bit unusual. This is just one off so I can?t blame them..l have been a customer of this takeaway for many years and this is the only time I had a negative/ unpleasant experience with their food. Otherwise I always enjoyed their food and service.

Chicken burgers were the worst chicken cottage burgers I have had chips were okay, normally chicken cottage burgers are pretty decent.
Do not go there taste is awful just ate cause I was hungry.

I was very poorly attended to. The food was very expensive and the burger was drier than the Sahara desert and the fries were wet.

Came in at 10pm on a Sunday for a quick bite. The batch of fried wings and the chicken fillet burgers were to my surprise freshly made and tasted great.

I stop by and ate on my way home. I ordered a chicken burger meal which was served quickly tasted good. Unfortunately the next day I came down with food poisoning and I hardly ate anything that day apart from that burger. Can't believe a franchise like this would serve food like this. I will not visit again once bitten twice shy

They reheat the fries two or three times if they don't go away. They cough and sneeze into the food, and the prices are the same as in the first zone.
