I normally love this store and make it my first choice supermarket but this afternoon it was chaotic. Tons of customers, loads of empty shelves and a sporadically attended 'Welcome Desk' which meant long waits to get questions answered. I was having problems with my hand-scanner and had to give up in the end as there was nobody at the desk to help.UPDATE:Much more positive experience than when I reviewed the store last. Definite improvement.

When I was living in the UK (2002), I lived nearby and went shopping at a supermarket quite often. They sold Orion beer from Okinawa, which helped me a lot. The chicken was also delicious. How has it changed now? . .

Open on a Sunday from 11 to 5 pm. It was not too busy and I quickly found the items I wanted to purchase and paid for them with my debit card and Waitrose card. This enabled me to have a free coffee

Quite busy could have done with a few more staff on the non self service checkouts.Everything I needed was in stock, and staff were friendly.

It was very busy today, but still very polite and helpful staff. Always a pleasure to shop in this store. I never came across people shopping in their pyjamas, speaking far too loud in their mobile phones. Easy to walk around. Everything nicely labeled. Really nice shopping experience. Like the new car park marking.

Love Waitrose, just today many sections were covered by the silver barriers, so did not have access to a few products.

As a regular customer the staff generally give a very good helpful, friendly and professional service, but when I visited the cooked chicken counter to order a chicken there was no one there and me and another customer had to wait more than five minutes to be served. To be fair, a member of staff looked for the person who meant was to be there and pointed this out to her and eventually I and the customer was served with no apology for the long wait to me and the other person who wanted a chicken. This falls below Waitrose high standard of service.
