The male assistant (with dark curly hair) is always very rude towards me and other customers. He ignores you whenever you ask him a question and if he answers, he always does so reluctantly. This has happened countless of times and i am convinced that supervision over the management of this store is being neglected. Not only this, he has a foul pungent odour as though he has not showered for weeks. Even if I do require assistance within the shop, I feel extremely unwilling to ask him, as he emits an offending smell from his breath. He looks like the biggest enemy of cleanliness. His poor state would be forgiveable if he was polite, but he exudes arrogance which far exceeds his status as the King of Half-chewed Pens and Discount Calenders at Whsmith. It creates a very bad image for the company. I will not be shopping for my products at this store again.

I went into WHsmith on the 15/05/2025 the lady and the man working there were really helpful and assisted me help and kindness, the store is small but always well stocked and they have the best selection of magazines! Everywhere else sell generic ones

The male assistant (dark curly hair) is always rude, ignores you, if you need attention at the till that is meet with silence, he doesn't even say how much the total is he just stands there scowling. But yesterday (Thursday, 27th Feb), he exelled his rudeness to meteoric heights. A customer came in for a newspaper and couldn't reach the shelf her paper was on, the customer asked the staff member if he could get the paper for her, he replied this shop is self service and walked away. Whilst you have such a rude person serving in your shop I will not be back as this is not the first time I have witnessed his rudeness. Enough is enough

Very polite staff today. I was a bit lost and they helped me find exactly what I was looking for. If you're looking for stationary, this place is excellent.

Very awful... less than 1 star rating even. Mr Curly Guy staff cannot be bothered at all. Sorry mate if u hate your job then get out. Otherwise you are giving your company a very bad image.

Sent a return package. The guy was just playing games on his phone and did not even gave me a receipt. Ridiculous!

Dear WHSmithToday around 5pm 30/01/2023 my mother and I went to buy a lucky dip which was £2.50p. She gave him the money and he didn't give us the ticket. As she is elderly she did not realise what he had done. We then went back into the shop 30 seconds after we left as she realised the man hadn't given us the ticket. The man was being rude and he was saying that he gave the ticket to us. He ridiculed us and embarrassed us in front of other customers. He did not give us the ticket. I would like the store manager to check the CCTV camera because I believe the worker stole my mum's ticket. He stole my mum's ticket and the fact he was being extremely rude to us was really unprofessional.Please look into this matter

Sorry, but I cannot recommend WHSmith, and I would discourage anyone from shopping here. I would have given a zero star review if possible here.I wanted to use the Vodafone Rewards offer, but the cashier made various excuses why I could not use it and/or implied that there were various other restrictions and conditions not mentioned in the smallprint of the offer, which he did not allow me to use. This was despite making me read all the terms and conditions smallprint to try to find the additional restrictions mentioned by him, and serving all the customers queueing behind me first, which was extremely unhelpful and frustrating, and he appeared to be doing this deliberately to waste my time. If WHSmith is unable to honour the Vodafone offer, then it should stop partnering with Vodafone and falsely (and illegally) advertising an offer which is unavailable to use. Otherwise, the terms and conditions should be kept simple and clear, rather than trying to catch people out with restrictions in the smallprint, or which are not even in the smallprint.

There was this very rude lady who refused to give my son the free Cadbury Eggs with the Vodafone offer, he showed the voucher code I sent to him and she just refused that and said to him I should be there. He is a secondary school child asking for a little pack of Easter eggs. I also called the store after he told me she isn't giving and she was so rude and told me to fill a complaint when I said I shall. He was very disappointed with this behaviour, that's ridiculous. If he had some money on him he would just purchase but he had the valid code. She said she can't accept the picture, well that's a unique code only valid for 10minutes which she needs to enter the system. Ridiculous treatment and behaviour. Last time with another stuff he was successfully redeemed another Vodafone offer because as I said you only need to hand over the code as it is unique. She clearly didn't know and easily turned him down and can't use this code now as it was it was only valid for 10 minutes. DATE:27TH MARCH 2023 time around 3:45pm

Very nice shop. You can buy stationary, news papers, cards and others. The staff are friendly and helpful.
