Bedbugs, very basic (e.g., shower has a shower curtain, I don't think I have seen one since the early noughties), stained carpets , no housekeeping unless you ask for it (and this is not mentioned at check in), absolute absence of communication (I asked at least 4 times what happens to my clothes/suitcase due to the bedbug situation and I am still waiting for an answer after 3 nights there and 2 days being back home), a lot of noise from the construction site next door and vibrations from the underground/tube up until 1 am and again from 5am, not to mention the lift breaks down so many times that the apology poster is left by the door. Worst hotel stay ever. But most importantly beware of bedbugs and the staff brushing you off when you flag it, saying bedbugs are not visible to the naked eye anyway so I must be mistaken. Excuse me but adults are the size of an apple seed so unless you need serious glasses, they are visible to the naked eye

An average Travelodge, good location, central in City of London, close to both Aldgate and Liverpool Street stations. Standard rooms are standard for sure and mine would definitely have needed an update, but a comfy bed and everything been there. You can see the wear and tear all over the place. Small breakfast/ bar room.

Only quick overnight stay/ nothing fancy/ early evening meal to ?refuel? at low cost. Value place to stay. Well - overall result - great greeting and assistance from Joytsana on Reception and same again from
Natalie for bar/ dining. I?d hurt my ankle so was struggling/ using a stick. They were so understanding, helpful and empathetic - thank you !!

Reasonable hotel with nice dinning and great staff. Avoid rooms to the right side of the hotel facing the entrance as the side road has to be one of the noisiest hotels i have ever stayed at. You'll be worken up from 9 ti midnight and from 5am forget getting any more sleep. Spent 4 nights here and everyone was the same for noise and the rooms don't have any air conditioning so you'll bake without the window open. So no sleep from being too warm or open the window and have extreme noise from the side road.

Front desk foyer the area smelt of stale sick. Building work very noisy outside. Room has no air conditioning so very hot, just a small desktop fan which doesn't do particularly alot. Shower is basically a tiny box, and water leaks out onto bathroom floor which is a big slip hazard. People in hotel friendly on the desk. Close location to London Liverpool Street.

Lay in my bed here as I write this...
- Aircon = None. Beads of sweat running down my face right now. Open a window? Ha! See next point...
- Soundproofing = LoL! This building is literally sitting atop the tube. Every 1-2 minutes it feels like an earthquake is going off as the whole building rumbles.
- Room clean and functional, but very small.
So, I'll see how I feel in the morning, but I'm not expecting to get much beauty sleep.

Excellent customer service by joytshna? Very helpful and friendly when I checked in. The barmaid was brilliant aswell very polite and prompt when I rung the bell( think she may be the chef too so bonus points of she's doing both jobs.

Dreadful stay, the hotel is filthy and the night manager was very unhelpful when I explained that my room smelled strongly of urine. I booked 4 nights and the first 2 I had a cold so although I thought the room smelled quite damp I did not notice the extent of the smell until my 3rd night. When I checked under the mattress it was disgusting and stank. I went downstairs and politely requested a room change. The assistant manager said he couldn?t help multiple times as it was not during the day despite other rooms being available and also couldn?t help with a refund. I booked another hotel, packed up my things and left after 10pm.

Not my usual branch in the city but the company jacked up prices for Bank Holiday weekend. Door keys didn't work despite getting them redone 4 times, no ventilation in the bedroom, extractor not working in the bathroom so stinks of mould, ironing board non functioning. Staff polite and helpful, location is good, noise from other rooms unbearable at night . Pillows terrible , found it hard to sleep on either of the nights I stayed.
