The staff in the basement cafe today are quite unpleasant. My latte was not made hot, and it went cold quite quickly. So I just asked them if they could kindly make it again and they said they would charge me again! Couldn?t believe it. Some people should not work in hospitality, especially in a lovely bookshop like this.
Just seen another customer ask this member of staff, right in front of my eyes, why she was so annoyed with her! I said I had the same experience!

Waterstones' café tucked away in the basement is an unexpected gem. It?s peaceful, cozy, and perfect for reading, working, or just having a good conversation. Being underground, there?s no mobile signal?which strangely adds to the charm?but the café has free WiFi that?s surprisingly stable, even good enough for Zoom calls. Great coffee, amazing people, quiet atmosphere, and surrounded by books.

a standard waterstones yes! BUT!! there?s a cafe in the basement which has a happy hour in the evenings.

Absolutely lovely Waterstones in London. Multiple floors with a beautiful cafe called lucky Jim?s on the basement floor which has both drinks and cocktails, and I love their mocha variety. Also great collection of books.

Waterstones - especially the Piccadilly location - has a great selection of books and special editions. It's what I wish Barnes & Noble would emulate (more books, more curation and less knick knacks).
