Would give 0 if possible!
The girl was very stand offish when paying money in,moaned about using elastic bands to keep money together, even asked me to move back,i said I'm behind the counter, where am i meant to stand,in the street?!
Staff fail to realise that they're desperate for customers to come in on person,or they'll be out of a job,as many banks are closing due to using online banking.
Need some training in customer skills and politeness.
Went Today,31/7/25 to put money in my account, unbelievably had the same problem, but with a different cashier.
They expect the money youre paying in to be perfectly flat and even, which is not only pathetically trivial,it's unrealistic.
Then the attitude, rolling her eyes and sucking her teeth,so asked to see a Manager, which i did after 10 minutes.
He came with me to a different cashier and handcounted the money.
Was the first girl just too rude and lazy to do this,or was it just she had too much attitude??! Either way, with that attitude she should never be allowed to work directly with the Public..
Going on Trustpilot now to leave a more worldwide viewed review.

Incompetent staff

Staff caused confusion because he called me over to the counter before he had finished counting a previous transaction. I heard 35 and I said 55 which was what I was paying in. Finish the previous task before accepting the next customer. Other than that he was polite and professional. It was a black middle aged male not wearing glasses.

Visited Nationwide?s Tottenham Court Road branch three times in the last week. Great atmosphere, fresh and inviting space. There is a workspace at the front for customers to use and comfortable seating with a round table as well. I found everyone to be super helpful and pleasant. On my first visit I needed time to set up my online banking and the time I needed was not an issue. Thanks to everyone for your welcoming attitude every time I visited the branch it is much appreciated.

Nearly got card trap scammed at this machine this evening. I put my card in to withdraw some cash and my card got stuck. I tried to press cancel to retrieve it but nothing was working.
I noticed a man waiting behind me and he approached me asking if I needed his help and he tried to suggest a combination to ?unblock? the card. He suggested I had to put my pin in and press two buttons down and it would work. I couldn?t really tell what the man was saying and felt very uncomfortable as he was very close asking me about my pin etc. I eventually got him to leave me alone whilst I looked for a phone number to call for the bank.
In the meantime another man approached me with the same attitude and again tried to get me to put my pin in whilst he watched to ?unblock? the machine. I again managed to eventually get him to go away and immediately cancelled my card through my banking app.
Card trapping is a scam that seems to be happening a lot at the moment.
Be very careful using cash machines and don?t put your pin in whilst someone can see as they?ll take your ?stuck? card after you?ve left.

Open 2 hours a day and you cannot withdraw cash without a physical ID even if you have your bank card, PIN, picture of your passport and passed all security questions?.

Closes before the advertised time of 16:30 - was 16:28 & didn?t let me in- actually was 16:27 when I knocked on the door and would have ignored me if it wasn?t for someone trying to exit they had to open the door for

Unauthorized Deductions!
Nationwide mortgages are diabolical. The customer service team replies were shocking too.
I recently had a small balance left to pay against my mortgage. Nationwide took it upon themselves to deduct the balance as well as charge me additional £65 to pay early.
After years off paying thousands in interest, nationwide still managed to unlawfully deduct additional fees. I did not want the balance to be paid off as i left enough debt to pay off until the end of my term.
I called the customer complaint team to discuss the fact I was not ready to pay the balance. The response I received from the patronizing agent -Diana was "we sent a letter to inform you of the fee. You should contact Royal mail if you did not receive the letter"
At this point i knew i was talking to a complaints person who has been working in that role too long to be any use. I asked for the tracking reference for the letter to enable me to question royal mail. However, Diane confirmed it was a standard letter. How stupid does Nationwide think customers are to be chasing Royal for not receiving these so called stanard fee letters??
i raised the complaint on the 7th June and some how i received a recent letter dated on the 7th too.
Absolute disgraceful unlawful deduction from Nationwide who have gained thousands in interest from me over the years.
I will be contacting the financial ombudsman to expose Nationwide inappropriate way to deduct more money from customers without consent.
I also requested my full history of payments/interest as Nationwide shut the account and are now trying to hide the history.

There was a fantastic member of the staff, presumably a manager in a white shirt. He was incredibly efficient and went above and beyond to assist. His positive and engaging attitude made the entire experience. Your commitment to providing exceptional service does not go unnoticed, and it's what sets this branch apart!

Totally superb, friendly and helpful staff. They couldn't have done more for me. Served by courteous man called Everton. Great experience all round.

How can banks close at the weekend. The only time I can get to the bank is on my lunch break because they close before I finish work and on the weekends there closed. Madness.

Amazing staff, so helpful. I was in a bind due HSBC difficult payment policy and the staff were able to help solve all my problems of the day, they are a great bank.

Completely rubbish and somewhat rude customer service. I provided official residence and school enrolment statements because that?s what I was told I needed to open an account. I went the next day with those documents and they then insisted they needed to be posted even tho UCL doesn?t do that (why should they when the online system for generating statements is adequate?). Opening an account with them is impossible. Don?t bother. There are other banks like HSBC that are far easier for international students students to open an account at.
