Visited the Dyson concession today 01/09/2025.I?m a loyal Dyson customer and currently own the Airwrap, Airstrait, Corrale, and a Dyson vacuum. I had gone in as I was considering replacing my Airwrap and wanted to browse and trial the product on display.
While I was testing it, I only styled my fringe and a small section at the side of my hair. Immediately, a staff member (Asian female) told me I wasn?t allowed to do my whole hair, even though I had no intention of doing so. The way it was said felt abrupt and dismissive, and it really put me off. Instead of engaging with me or offering any assistance, I was left feeling unwelcome.
I also asked about the release date of the new Airwrap, and the only response I received was ?in a few weeks,? with no effort to give further detail or guidance. I had actually planned to make a purchase that day, but I walked out with nothing due to the unprofessional and unhelpful attitude.
As a local customer who has always supported Dyson, this was a very disappointing experience. Please ensure staff are properly trained to be helpful, approachable, and professional.

I had a personal styling appointment with Reece from menswear. He was extremely professional and knowledgeable with his styling tips. He was patient and made easy conversation for over an hour. I would highly recommend his services to anyone looking for a stress free styling experience.

I visited the oxford st store and Helena at the till was very rude. She was being very hasty didn?t greet well and didn?t even answered me in a proper manner. Very disappointed

We had such a good experience in the Oxford street John Lewis! The shop assistant Rainbow made our day as she was so lovely and welcoming. She helped us with everything and we will definitely be back!

Disgusting behaviour from one of the security personnel 27/08/25 around 19:00 - ground floor near the lift and flower/plants area . We got some men clothes and we saw the plants/flowers and would like to get some too to pay together with the men?s clothing we got. The rude security personnel told us without any greeting - ?where are you guys going?, pay it first there.? I am sorry but this is a shopping store, you do not have any right to tell me to pay for one item at a item. You even stopped us from browsing the plants. He literally told us that we cannot go to that area unless we pay for the men?s clothing we got. No way there is a rule like this in a shopping store, if this is the case then the elevators and lifts should be banned if you cannot browse other departments. It is totally my choice to browse and pay all items together. Very disappointed because of this behaviour, please learn some manners and a bit of politeness!

I?ve shopped with John Lewis for years, trusting their reputation for fairness and customer care. Sadly, that trust has been eroded.
I purchased a Pixel 9a in good faith, only for the price to drop by £100 just 10 days later. When I contacted customer service, I was met with rigid policy enforcement and a refusal to apply any discretion?even though their own case manager later admitted they do have the ability to offer goodwill gestures. Another staff member had previously told me no such discretion exists. Which is it?
The response I received was cold, procedural, and dismissive?more like dealing with a machine than a brand that claims to value loyalty. I wasn?t treated as a long-standing customer, just another transaction outside the 7-day window.
What?s most frustrating is how easily this could have been turned into a positive experience. A modest gesture would have shown that John Lewis still stands for integrity and customer-first values. Instead, I was left feeling unheard and undervalued.
I won?t be shopping with John Lewis again unless they rediscover the principles that once made them different.
