I?m so happy I joined this gym. Staff are all so friendly cannot do enough for you especially Sveta! the gym is immaculate and so quiet off peak and a great workspace. The reformer Pilates class with Wesley is hands down the best reformer class I?ve ever done and I?ve been to 1Rebel, level out, third space?
Can?t wait to go back to the Friday evening classes and hopefully they can add some more reformer classes to the programme.

Echoing some of the recent feedback.
I?ve been a member since 2018, using both the Mansion House location (pre-COVID) and more recently, Walbrook.
Over the past five years, the service and amenities have consistently declined, even as prices have steadily gone up ? inflation combined with shrinkflation, a double whammy.
Some examples of shrinkflation:
- Used to offer free coffee ? now gone.
- Towels now limited to one, even if you're showering and using the spa. They defend this using corporate jargon in the name of the environment, but it's certainly down to the bottom line.
- Gym now closes at 9pm instead of 10pm, and in practice starts shutting down around 8:45pm. This is often inconvenient for people working in the city.
- Facilities often out of order ? salt dispenser hasn?t been working properly for a while, steam room frequently out of service, or not actually steaming.
The price point now is what you?d expect from a premium gym, but the experience is, at best, mid-tier. They are pricing themselves close to a ThirdSpace, but are nowhere near that quality.
They used to have that premium feel, which has eroded over the past two years, whilst prices have gone the other direction.
It's disappointing to see the quality drop while the costs keep rising.

Been a member for over 5 years and prices have increased whilst standards have dropped.
Towels now provided at the front desk as opposed to a specifically built towel desk between the changing rooms and are only limited to one towel.
Consistently run out of towels which presents serious issues where customers are gymming during their lunch breaks and unable to shower.
Annually receive an email stating rates will increase unless you recommit to a 12 month contract. When you sign up to this they process your request and you end up paying full rate. Attempts to resolve it are slow and not necessarily successful. The illusive online chat feature does not seem to exist on an internet browser.
Showers often do not have shower gel in the dispensers.
Given the price, personal touches and conveniences are not/no longer available. Cotton buds, deodorants, gel are not available as they are with competitor gyms.
Their tier reward system seems to not function in that you can have the required tier points for silver status yet still only be listed as a bronze.
If you are considering joining Virgin Active I would consider a cheaper alternative like Fitness First or pay slightly more for Third Space

I came by the club today as it was my first time in this location and I had a amazing time looking at all the facilities whilst also being guided by nazmina. I definitely feel like the experience was made much better by her smile and welcoming attitude. I will definitely be back soon.

I initially enjoyed this gym, but since the management change after my first two months, the overall quality has significantly declined. The front desk staff often appear disinterested and lack basic customer service skills, and management is completely unresponsive to emails, making it difficult to address concerns.
The facilities are also poorly maintained. Changing rooms have an unpleasant odor, the spa area is consistently in need of better cleaning, and the sauna rarely works. The towels provided are so rough they feel like sandpaper. Given the high membership fees, I expected much better upkeep and service.
To make matters worse, I canceled my membership due to moving abroad and attempted multiple times to confirm this with management, no response. Unsurprisingly, I later received a forceful call from the billing team claiming I hadn?t paid. Now, they?re asking me to provide proof of my cancellation due to their own mistake. As if preparing for an international move wasn?t stressful enough, I now have to deal with this added headache caused by incompetent staff.
Totally not worth it, and I?m relieved to be leaving.

My first week as a member of the Virgin Active on Cannon Street. Very good so far, haven't given 5 stars because I think the free weights area would benefit from expansion possibly some additional equipment (x 2 squat racks only).

Signed up for a 3 months membership, tested the club out for 3 days and decided that it was not convenient for me with my house being far away, I wasn't sent the contract that I signed neither the T&C's and now when I was trying to cancel I was hoping that they'd help me out since I've only been to the club for 3 times, the complete opposite .I'm stuck paying a 3 months membership to a club that i did not like, is not convenient for me as I live far away, and I didn't have the T&C's to check the cancellation instructions. Please do not sign up for this gym if you have any doubts, because once you're signed to them, they don't really care about your circumstances, they just care that you're stuck with the Direct Debit. If you're planning to join, please tour other gyms and only join this club there's a 100 other I could recommend. if you're a 100% sure you will be attending the whole time and you've gotten a trial period from them (gym is not very comfortable to be in), otherwise it doesn't make sense to me and I regret the day I stepped foot in that place.
