Front desk staff was very nice and helpful when it came to dinner recommendations. Location was very close to the Eurostar train. The room was adequate but the hallways and elevator smell like urine.

Needed a hotel close to St. Pancras for catch an early morning eurostar train to Paris. This did the trick.

The location is more than fine, of course, very convenient. Same with the price considering is in London.
Now, here is my problem: the blatant xenophobia I experienced, which frankly surprised me.
I?m from a Latin American country and have a hard time sometimes understanding the accent even though I speak English, since this is not the main accent I learned. I try my best and do my upmost to communicate, and I?ve been trying to learn accents and regionalisms too.
When we arrived at the reception we witnessed how the young man wasn?t particularly kind to other 2 LatinAmericans (I know they were because they spoke my language and I recognised accents and regionalisms), which, all right, I assumed he was just taciturn. The next lady in line was treated so much differently, with kindness and patience even when she had a hard time understanding his accent. She was a white lady though and it was evident she was from England if from another city.
Then we go up next and the behaviour changes abruptly, just like when he talked to the the two Latin American girls, he barely responds to my questions and gets annoyed if I ask him to repeat something (I did it once). He didn?t mention the door to the lift was broken and we came to realise it when other 2 white ladies approached us and let us know he did tell them.
Strangely enough, he wasn?t white. I will not assume his ethnicity, but he was indeed not white. As minorities we already have so much baggage and it?s disappointing.
White or not, he was less than kind and I?m not sure I?ll be staying again not matter how convenient is the location.
LatinAmericans: please be careful where you stay.

Will stay again

The room wasn't cleaned to the standard I would expect for a hotel in this price point. No soap in the bathroom dispenser and no soundproofing - so noise from the trains and local bar made sleep difficult.
Location is good - plenty of places to eat and it is only a few minutes walk from Kings Cross station.
Disappointed overall and grateful we only stayed one night.

Handy for Kings Cross St Pancras stations especially if getting an early Eurostar train

The customer service by the staff was fine, the room itself was also clean and adequate. However I have never had such a terrible nights sleep at a hotel, we were placed in a room backing onto the train tracks so we couldn?t sleep with the windows open. We were provided with a small desk fan in lieu of air conditioning, but that was no match for the sun beating down on the room.
We had late check-out and got up and were gone by 9:30 as it was so uncomfortable.
Given the age of the property it wouldn?t surprise me if air con isn?t an option, however better curtains and better fans would go a long way to mitigate the heat!

This hotel was awful, got told our room was in the basement which had no lift but lots of stairs and doors to go through. Opened the door to our room and was welcomed with the strongest smell of damp and mould. The carpet had stains, bed sheets weren?t clean, the toilet had hairs all round the toilet bowl and obviously no window in the room so was very hot and stuffy. We arrived at around 10pm as was using St Pancras the next morning but had to book another hotel and leave.

Ideal location for transport, room was brilliant. Good size, air con was a bonus in the heatwave. Breakfast is fine, convenient and meets requirements. Staff are really helpful.

We stayed at Travelodge London Central Kings Cross in July, and it was the worst start to a holiday we have ever experienced. We had booked three nights for my family of four, plus my mother and sister-in-law, but we checked out after the first night because the place simply felt unsafe and unhygienic.
We were given two rooms on the third floor. To get to them, we had to go through multiple heavy doors and several flights of stairs. The warm and bad air started after the first door, but it got worse with each section we entered. By the time we reached the rooms, the air felt heavy and hard to breathe, unbearably hot, and with no proper ventilation. The fans in the rooms were thick with dust, and we were worried about what we were breathing in.
The room for four people had four beds, but almost no space left for luggage. The bathroom was far from clean, with dust and dirt around, and the bin still had leftover items from the previous guests, including sanitary products. There was a strong unpleasant smell, and we later noticed mould on the window frames and door frames. The second room had exactly the same problems.
We told the receptionist about the unclean bathroom and the trash left behind. She was polite and said she would see what could be done. When we came back later, nothing had been cleaned, and the only difference was that the one clean towel we had used had been taken away.
The night was awful. My eldest child cried, my wife and I barely slept, and even with the window open and the fans running at full speed, the heat and air quality were unbearable. We felt uncomfortable and unsafe the entire time.
Breakfast the next morning was just as bad. There were hardly any healthy options, some of the yoghurts in the tray were past their expiration date, the coffee was undrinkable, and there was not enough space or food for the number of guests.
We have stayed in budget hotels before, so our expectations were realistic, but this was well below any acceptable standard. We ended up having to spend extra time and money to find another place to stay. We have tried to get a refund for the cost of our stay, but the response from the company has been very dismissive, as if they consider this level of quality acceptable to deliver. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone, especially if you are travelling with children or elderly guests.

Far too hot despite table fan. We were not made aware that windows don't open, disappointing. We could hear every sound coming from the next room. On a positive note, reception staff were lovely, and I would come back

7 mins walk St Pancras and King?s Cross- fab BUT our room was right next to an underground line so very very noisy. NO AIR CON- but having the window open was a no go due to the underground tube noise! Room was very stuffy, perfectly clean though

We booked a room for 2 nights and were given room number 5. It smelt overwhelming like mould! We couldn't even open a window for fresh air, sk the fans stayed on full for our whole stay. I believe it could cause health issues for guests. Completely unacceptable for any hotel!
I didn't bother asking for another room, as I had overheard the receptionist saying that they were fully booked. Don't to even consider booking this hotel!!

This is a really good location for a hotel. A short 5 mins walk to London Kings Cross and plenty of places to eat nearby. Sadly the ground floor room we had smelt really bad. We raised this straight away with the man at reception. He said it was due to the ground floor rooms not having windows, yet our room did have a window which was open (on arrival). Not sure why he didn't know this. The carpet I believe was the cause of the smell. The bed wasn't comfortable either. With this being a busy weekend during the summer, there wasn't another room to move too. I also highly doubt another hotel would have availability. We were also told because it was a saver rate, we're unlikely to get any money back. Such a shame a company would penalise you like this
