Went here after seeing travel videos featuring it on YouTube.
The architecture truly is amazing. There's the main room in the middle that's the most beautiful one and 2 more on either side of it that are nice, but not as impressive.
That being the case, the main room is packed and the only open seating we found was in one of the less pretty rooms off to the side.
It's nice that you don't have to go through the entire V&A museum to get access to the cafe, although we did go through a small part of the Buddhist section. I liked that, though, because we still got a taste of the museum.
We came around 1 hour to closing, 4pm, so there weren't long lines to get our food.
It's cafeteria style and the 2 stalls I saw facing each other were selling the same thing.
We got to try scones for the first time which I liked better than the mango & raspberry cake I also ordered which was too sweet.
The prices are reasonable. For 2 desserts and 2 drinks between 2 people it came to around $22 total, so around $11 each.
Even the bathroom was nice, but I noticed they made the majority of the stalls and sinks available to the public be the more modern ones while the really pretty old fashioned one only had a few stalls.
Afterwards, we wandered into the central courtyard and admired the architecture.
Overall, it was a good experience. Just don't expect to sit in the really pretty main room, which is why I went there in the first place and I'm sure many other people do, too.

Average coffee, superb space

Bit dissapointing, no gluten free options without contamination, coffee leaves a bit to be desired and the cakes didnt taste the freshest, considering location qnd popularity expected a lot more! Would avoid if you can, much better places to go

The flat white I had in member?s room was terrible. I noticed it?s from Benugo. What happened to Benugo? I also noticed this was the brand in BFI cafe and st James cafe, and it was not good compared with specialty coffee.??

I liked the carrot cake, and the hot chocolate.
The interior design was really great.

Never visited before but I was quite surprised by the surroundings. Art lovers there is a handful of pieces to look at !! I love how antique it feels when you sit down. Calming atmosphere. I was quite surprised on how the service works, but it wasn?t a problem. Beautiful selection on good and beverage

The food wasn't great. The service wasnt great either. The waitresses seemed more concerned with chatting with one another. Atmosphere wasn't good either. Wouldn't recommend this. Go elsewhere for a coffee and cake .

The most beautiful café in the world

The place is very beautiful and it is well worth visiting to see it, but what detracts from it is that the tables are full of plates, glasses and cups from people who leave them and it takes them a long time to clear and clean the tables. In fact, we had our coffee with other people's plates of food that they never picked up while we were there. A shame, because such a beautiful corner deserved more careful attention.

A nice place inside a beautiful museum. The place is amazing in every sense of the word. The coffee is excellent, but the cinnamon is not delicious at all, and I do not recommend it as dough in every sense of the word.

After the obligatory visit to the Victoria & Albert Museum in London, the 19th century Cafeteria, with high ceilings and interesting decoration, is worth it.
As entry is free, if you're strolling through the posh South Kensington neighbourhood, you can head straight to the café behind the main entrance and shop.
Good pastries. There are also hot dishes.
Vegetarian options: There is an oriental food section in which there are vegetarian dishes. Also salads.
Kid-friendliness: No problem
Wheelchair accessibility: You can go in a wheelchair. Adapted bathrooms.

One of most beautiful cafes I have ever seen! Never knew about it until recently a bit of a hidden gem. The cafe appears to be run by Benugo, so if you have had their coffee and cakes at another place you will know what you are getting. Being in a museum the food and drink is a bit pricey.
The cafe is free to enter, so you can just come and take a look at the deco if you don't fancy drinking or eating anything.
