If you want to know why six pubs a week are closing, my experience at this pub might explain why. I entered the very brightly lit pub with nearly all the tables taken. A large group on one table, couples on other tables and one table left for us. Apart from being far too bright, a good atmosphere.
I purchased a bottled beer, which was warm. I assumed this was because it had recently been put in the fridge. However, the fridge had broken. Would have been nice to be told this before I purchased it. Then to my consternation they called last orders at 21.45 with a full pub on a Saturday night.
Some of those drinking asked why? With no real reason given apart from the obvious reason the staff did not really want to be there.
Extremely disappointing. Use another pub if you want to drink past 22.00 and enjoy a beer that?s cold.

Easily my favourite pub. A beautiful building, without hideous modern decoration, old and cosy. But mainly, the friendliest bar staff and management. The pub is in safe hands with Terry, super kind and welcoming. We all love David, Josh, Saul and Co.
This is my go-to pub and the go-to pub of any event / party I throw. The sacred spot of my beloved Average Joe's quiz team.
Love it all, just perfect.

This pub is a short walk from Borough tube station. It is an outlet for Harvey's Sussex ales, and on my most recent visit there were 7 on offer. I had the Old Ale.

Lovely pub for a quiet daytime pint with superb real ale. Would have stayed longer and scored much higher if it wasn't for the surly barman, but it's definitely worth a visit for the beer alone.

A small pub that somehow managed to cope with a party of 60 or so people. The two bar staff didn't get a minute to rest but were excellent, managing to serve drinks to different people at the same time - a noteworthy skill.

This was my first visit to this pub for a party. I was excited before I came but disappointed with the service from one of bartenders who has dark hair. I stood next to the bar to order but he just ignored me. Five minutes later, he came to me. No greetings at all even after I said hello to him. He just replied ?what do you want?? without even showing a smile on his face.
Fifteen minutes later, the pub got much busier when more people arrived for the party. I needed to go upstairs but I couldn?t find where the stairs were. So I approached the bar and asked the bartender politely ?can you show me where the stairs to upstairs, please?? In stead of pointing out the direction or told me where it was, he said ?Isn?t that obvious? You won?t miss it.? then he turned his head and walked away.
As I mentioned earlier, it was my first time here. I wasn?t familiar with the place at all. I thought it would be easier to ask a bartender rather to look for it myself. Otherwise I would have to excuse myself to go around the busy pub. It turned out that the door leads to toilet and stairs were blocked by customers. That was why I didn?t see the sign on the door.
I understood the bartender might have been worked a whole day, he might be tired on a busy Saturday evening. But it shouldn?t be difficult for him to treat customers nicely and politely. If he doesn?t like the job, he shouldn?t work there. Another bartender who has blonde hair was happy and polite to customers though.
No one would be happy to spend money but receive rude services in return. I wouldn?t go there again.

Really great pub which does what it does really well.
