If you want to know why six pubs a week are closing, my experience at this pub might explain why. I entered the very brightly lit pub with nearly all the tables taken. A large group on one table, couples on other tables and one table left for us. Apart from being far too bright, a good atmosphere.
Pub of the year 2023! 🏆 (SE London CAMRA)
Harveys London Taproom.
Nestled on the corner, The Royal Oak is a cosy, brick built Victorian pub found in the heart of Borough's high-rises in London.
The pub is low key and appreciated for its authenticity by it’s eclectic mix of clientele. It was voted one of the UK’s top ten pubs in 2010 (Daily Telegraph), one of the best pubs in Borough (Londonist), currently holds a five star rating in Time Out London, and is a regular feature in the Good Beer Guide.
Expect well-kept Harvey’s ales, a generous helping of salt beef in your sandwich and good company.
