This place only survives because of where it is.
We were told as a table of 6 sat outside in the empty garden area we had to book. Not sure why we were the only table told this but the very odd man that came over seemed to think it was something other than his staff taking 15 minutes to make a coffee order that meant we didn?t have drinks yet. This led to an odd interaction where we were berated regarding a mix of, not putting balloons up, telling the kitchen we were ordering food, and that 6 people requires a booking. We had no interest in ordering hot food at 10am nor putting balloons up, a couple of presents were being opened by a 2 year old and I think they were pushing to get more money out of us and maybe a deposit. I?ve never had to book at an empty cafe for 6 people, and now I know to avoid even when it?s just me.
Coffees and hot chocolate were all bland, tables were dirty, no thought given to managing a rush inside as it quickly became chaotic and cramped.
Rude staff, bad selection of food and a long wait for drinks mean you?ll only go here because it?s in the park. There are no redeeming qualities other than location.

Unfortunately a very disappointing Visit. £33.60 for 2 baps 2 teas and 1 coffee. For this price I would expect better service and much tastier plentiful food.
Even though it was a quiet Sunday morning -around 9.30- we seemed to wait ages for 2 Vegan Baps. When they finally came they were the meat baps. Waitress walked away even though I called out to her - with no response. So had to return to the counter with them.
After checking with Chef told by staff member - waving the ticket in front of my face - that meat baps were ordered- no apology - just factual not our fault- and without any customer care. Advised did not order as we are vegetarian. Told they would sort it out. Sat down and looked back to se the entire staff and manager having a pow wow about it!! Was this the first time it ever happened????
5 minutes later the Manager comes over asking what happened starting to talk 50 yards away - so could not hear what he actually said!!! then walks away without apology when told we ordered the vegan baps.
Finally 20 minutes late we get the vegan baps originally ordered and they were NOT worth the wait, they were very small with little taste of anything.
The watery small mushroom, Isle of greenhouse tomato,
watery spinach, cling film thickness of pink hummus??, could easily have come from the corner shop rather than fresh from Covent Garden.
Overpriced Tasteless Food Management and Staff with no sense of customer Care or Service WILL NOT BE RETURNING.

The food is a bit expensive, but that is expected given its location. However, this place is just beautiful. Decor and ambience is just like what you see in lifestyle magazines. Good weather, good coffee, great views.

The food itself is really good, however the service is really bad. I have waited more than 10 mins to get the lemonade, and 40 mins to get my pizza, and not even an apology. I understood that the restaurant was very busy, but it seems very unorganised, a messy working order. I'm so disappointed.

Waiting times way too long, I?ve never waited this long for a coffee ever before plus the cakes way too overpriced and undersized portions

A cozy place to have a drink and recuperate from the uphill walk to Greenwich....

Location and setting sells the cafe. Coffee was good and cake was alright. Overpriced but to be expected considering the setting. The staff were disinterested and didn?t seem to know what was on offer. Asking for cutlery was treated with much confusion. Much better offerings in the local area but good if you want something convenient

Soft Serve Delight with a View!
Stopped by The Pavilion Café near the Royal Observatory and treated myself to this soft serve ice cream with a flake ? and wow, just look at the size of it! ?
Rich, creamy, and perfectly swirled, it was surprisingly huge ? felt more like a meal than just a dessert. The cone was crisp, the flake was classic, and the whole thing held up well despite the sunny weather. Great value for the size and taste.
Enjoyed it right outside with lovely park views and a relaxing atmosphere. Ideal for a sweet break after exploring Greenwich Park or visiting the observatory. Highly recommend!
? Perfect treat in a perfect spot.

The cakes are nice but it?s so expensive and the front of house staff are terrible. They don?t listen to you and can barely make coherent sentences, which is crazy when you?re paying so much to get anything

This is a beautiful cafe in a brilliant location but it's SO overpriced. Presumably to rip off tourists. It's a shame. The closing times online are never accurate too.
