Having not booked we weren?t expecting a table inside but we were lucky enough to get one of the last tables in the bar area. The bar had a lovely atmosphere and the staff were wonderful and polite. Me and my wife couldn?t make our minds up so we got one of the roast beef and one pork belly?both delicious. The beef was perfectly pink and the pork was succulent and tender. All the trimmings you?d expect cooked to perfection, some of the best roast potatoes I?ve had. We ended up having puddings and crumble was sublime served with vanilla ice cream and when we asked they bought out custard as-well! Overall we had a great time and will definitely be returning in the future !

Had a great lunch. The food was good value. Chloe gave us a superb service. Nothing was too much trouble and she was always ready if we needed anything.

One of the best traditional Sunday lunches I have had in a pub. Vegetables crisp and crunchy, pork delicious with proper crackling. Yorkshire pud overwhelmingly big though - more of a hat really. Good service from cheerful staff. Really like the decor, garden looked welcoming with beach huts but too cold for me.

Was in Putney over Xmas and stopped by for Sunday lunch. Cosy pub but below average food; over cooked and dry, it seemed to us that the food had been cooked a lot earlier on in the day and had been reheated for us when we ordered. They appear to have traded freshly made food for being able roll it out when needed, rather than going for both. Go there for a cosy heathside drinks spot, but eat elsewhere.

The Sunday roast beef was terrible, stringy and of very poor quality. It was not possible to eat the beef. Also meagre portions.

The team at the Green Man are always so helpful. They accommodated a last minute change with no fuss. The food was good as always, and the ambience is always good.

Great place to catch up with friends over delicious food, dogs made very welcome too. Friendly staff, relaxed and welcoming atmosphere, perfect evening out.

It's a nice looking pub but our experience wasn't as good as it could have been. The service was slow and we had to ask for plates to be cleared and to see desert menus. One of the group had the bread pudding and custard for desert but the custard was past it's best, was lumpy and had a sour smell and taste. Overall the roast dinners were warm not hot and the potatoes were dry in the centre. It wasn't the worst Sunday lunch we've had but for 5 adults, one drink each and two courses it wasn't good enough for the £170 bill at the end... Overall disappointing.

Pub has a nice feel to it. Lovely staff & atmosphere. Location is good, not many pubs in that area. Large rear garden, perfect for summer & dogs.

Love this traditional, local pub! Always buzzing with a neighborly feel, peeps out for food, drink and fun. Lots of seating options, by the window or tucked away. Also when the weather is so mild a lovely outdoor patio at back. Desserts and coffee are fine but it was my Scottish trout that?ll keep me coming back. Great pit stop by the bus stop but this is no dive. Highly recommended ?? ( Hygiene rating 5)

Our usual and favourite pub. The staff is professional and friendly. You can see the place is very well managed with just a couple of visits, all works very smoothly. Sometimes you can find a new person behind the counter with little experience (everybody needs to start from scratch at some point) but what I like of this place is the fact they are very committed to please the customer because they always seem to pick the right kind of person. The knowledge can be acquired but the right personality to work in a business where you need to deal with people all the time, that's a more complicated thing. And they usually nail this. The ambience is great. Several spaces or rooms that can offer a relative quietness when a group of people is celebrating something in another room. You can expect the wooden decoration and the old paintings and retro photos on the wall which make pubs pubs. The food is quite good even we usually go just for a snack. All in all, our first place to go after a hard day's work.Dietary restrictions: My wife is allergic to gluten (although her level of intolerance is not superhigh, for example she doesn't have issues with cross contamination). Having said that, we haven't had any issues eating there. Anyway, if you have some kind of allergy, you should ask first of course.

An excellent meal with my family. Always a good and wide menu and good value. The service we had was superb - we were alerted to a welcome offer on drinks and candles were supplied for a birthday cake. Couldn't have been better. We go regularly and love it every time

Jeez Louise. I am a proud American Tourist and golly gosh what a pub this is. This pub hit me with gusto and ambiance that is just not offered within the States. Ever since Sleepy Joe took over anyway. Anyway, I digress. I was served by a young chap with an ear to ear grin, Cameron was his name-o.He went above and beyond for me, so much so that I felt right at home having a Thanksgiving meal. Came back the very next day with the ol' ball and chain, and I must say, it was a riveting return. Cameron was there once again, and he personally ensured that I dined like a King. 10/10 would feast again.

Ordering food is now at the bar or via an App. So we ordered at the bar and had a really nice young man who took our orders. We sat outside in one of the wooden huts. Waiters brought our food - hamburger and steak - promptly. Similarly for a dessert. A very pleasant evening. Two things that should have been done before we arrived - the table of the first hut we chose had broken glass on it. We moved to another hut and that had cigarette buts on the floor (it was supposed to be non-smoking).

We used to be regulars here 40 years ago when we lived in Putney and hadn't been back since! So everything was different apart from the front of the pub! It was late afternoon so was a bit quiet and I got served a pint which was just a bit cloudy so it wasn't wonderful. My own fault for not sending it back. But we enjoyed the afternoon. Food and service was good.
