Great service, lovely man. Been here twice now and can't fault. Goes above and beyond to help and provide good service. He even fixed some torn leather on my boot that I had assumed was unfixable, without me having to ask! Highly recommend. Cash only (no card/contactless).

Had two pairs of shoes resoled by George in record time. The first was a pair of black dress Loakes that had a hole in one shoe. Not only did he resole them beautifully, he restored the whole shoe. They look amazing, better than new.The second was a tricky pair of Italian climbing boots with a moulded sole that I wasn't expecting him to he able to resole. He created a custom sole for each one that's probably better than the original.A proper cobbler, with old school expertise who doesn't charge the earth. People come from miles around to entrust him with their shoes.

George is an absolute Gem of a bloke. Very helpful with all sorts of stuff including keys, zips, buckles, belts, bags etc. Always the same service and I've been coming here for the past 30 years.

Cheap and friendly, but nearly ruined my wedding shoes. I went in to get the straps shortened, and we went through the required length together and he unstitched and cut one of the straps while I was there to show me how it would be done. All seemed fine, but when I went in to pick them up, he said he'd had to shorten them further, without clearly explaining why. I suspect he miscalculated when shortening the second strap (maybe forgetting to unstitch?), and ended up having to trim the first strap to match. Luckily they fit, but only just, and it's a struggle to get them on, so I'll always be reminded of how they weren't adjusted properly.No judgment on his other services, as he has very good reviews, but I very much resent that he didn't take more care. I would have happily paid double to have the job done well.
