In between all the luxury you?ll find more down-to-earth ingredients lavished with just as much attention. Mackerel shimmers in a basil gazpacho consommé, its delicate salinity unfurling into an assertive fishiness. Melt-in-the-mouth sweetbreads come with classical accompaniments of cauliflower and grapes, but the Darroze magic is in the vadouvan emulsion, which introduces a curry element to flatter the cauliflower.

We went there for cocktails. Service was great. A gentlemen from the crew helped us to choose our cocktails and they were fab. I?d higly recommend having oysters

Didn't stay at the hotel, but had a couple of martinis at the bar. First up, it's a very swanky place, a beautiful building. The bar is incredibly popular and gets very busy, and it's usually not possible to reserve a table, however you can stand at the bar and have a drink while you are waiting for one to free up, and the staff will help with that. The martinis themselves were excellent; it seems they are constantly experimenting with new ideas and flavours. The staff were friendly and helpful and overall it was a lovely experience. The atmosphere is great. It's not snooty like a certain place nearby known for its martinis (Dukes). Would definitely recommend.

A beautiful bar and a beautiful experience. The staff is wonderful and the drinks are uniquely delicious. I really liked the Faraway Collin's. I also like the gin they make. But don't get it in a gin and tonic, it is too subtle to stand up to much tonic. You can get a bottle to take home for £95. Very expensive for gin but that's what you get at the #5 bar in the world.

The Connaught Bar being ranked as the #5 bar in the world was one I knew I had to visit! It has been the top bar a few years ago and it was the place to be! It is a small bar in the Connaught Hotel (one of three) and they don't accept reservations unless you are staying at the hotel. Be prepared to wait for space or for the bar to not have any openings one night. Even for one, I had to wait 30 min for a spot to stand at the bar but it was worth it! Shoutout to Ricardo who is a great bartender. Extra bonus if you speak Italian as the staff all speak it.

My partner surprised me with a stay here. We were sadly did not enjoy our time. The attitude of the staff are some of the worst I have experienced. I am well seasoned when it comes to staying in Mayfair hotels however the blatant snobbery was something else. Rooms were nice, food was nice but nothing exceptional. The Connaught has indeed gone downhill. Please train staff to not observe this superior attitude. I understand the hotel is marketed toward the upper class- but you cannot market toward this audience via a pretentious attitude. Left with a bitter taste in my mouth and sadness in my heart.

Arrived as they opened. We received a welcome drink and snacks. Cool experience having someone make your martini at table side. Cozy atmosphere.

I love capturing Mayfair's beauty for our clients, but I've had mixed experiences here. Twice, I was met with hostility for taking photos?once even shouted at. I don't get the vibe; it feels unwelcoming. On the flip side, the cake shop staff were lovely, a real contrast to the hotel staff's rudeness. Just wish everyone was as nice as the cake shop crew ?

Immaculate service! My husband surprised me with a one night stay in The Connaught prior to my birthday... All attentive and kind from the moment we stepped in until the checkout? Front Desk, In Room Dining - special thanks to Claudia, Sebastian, Ionut, Andrei, Teo and Géza- went the extra mile and rocked during our stay.Oh, what also touched me was a book I found in the room about Brancusi, an artist from my home cityP.S. Our 3yo was most delighted with the surprise found in our room and loves his Dino( later edit)
