A real hidden gem in central London, 40 Elephants is the perfect place for great cocktails and tasty food. The staff were very professional and took good care of me. The beautiful décor is full of history, which adds to the charm of the place.

Everything top notch,the friendliest bartender (ishan) told us about the history of the beautiful 40 elephants female gang. The beautiful atrium in the middle of the bar depicting smash and grab which was particularly interesting. Can't wait to come back

I honestly had the nicest cocktail I've ever had in my life here...for the life of me I can't remember what it was called but it was tequila (mezcal) and pink grapefruit based - it was so delicious!!! Complementary olives and snacks were a nice touch.

They do not serve cocktails before 4pm, which is all right. They condescendantly agreed on serving long drinks (but not simple martini on ice, this was a no-no: only vodka martinis. What is happening)
All of this could have been acceptable - only if the waiters served the drinks on the table and not on my shoulder.
That's fine. They offered the drink that I initially did not want (I was here for cocktails), and that ruined my t-shirt . A bare minimum, when you anyways forcefully charge a 13.5% service gratuity on the check....
The drinks were okay. No effort at all put into them though. They could have served a canned bitters next to a glass of gin that it would have been the same.

Pros; cocktails were nice, and nibbles (olives and crackers) served alongside. The service from the manager (?) was kind.
Cons; even though we were sat at the bar, we were never presented with a menu or asked what we wanted, or checked in on. I had to flag down the bartender for everything including the menu, and believe I waited a reasonable amount of time to do so. One of the bartenders was clearly annoyed by this and was short with me, which is unfortunate when 4 drinks come to £90 including service, I expect top notch. The ambiance is nice but there are nicer places nearby. Unfortunately I?d give this one a miss.

Elegant bar inspired by a powerful female group. The bar payed respect to the history by allocating the first two pages of the menu to the interesting story. The interior design also followed the theme, which I appreciated. I liked the design and furniture. The service was ok. We thought we?d get some nibbles (nuts/ olives/ or something) along with the drinks but that wasn?t the case. The drinks were quite good.

Very elegant place. A little expensive but worth it. I did not eat just wine. Even thr toilets are so fancy.
