Not the most stylish, tasteful of places. Could improve their music choice at the terrace. Good but slow service considering we were the only table ordering hot foot. Amazing greenhouse glass ceiling.

home from a fantastic 3 nights spent at the dilly celebrating my daughters 18th Birthday. Staff were great, hotel was beautiful, room was lovely and the added birthday touches made the experience even more special. Breakfast was probably one of the best breakfasts I've had and lastly.... the location!! this location is everything. We will definitely be staying with you again in the future. Thank you all.

We went to the Dilly for the London afternoon tea. The service was excellent, all the wait staff were kind and friendly. The atmosphere and presentation were great as well. The food was all served on a very cute red bus. The food was alright tasting but the tea was excellent!

The Dilly is a first-class hotel. The staff from Housekeeping to front desk and everyone in between, were wonderful and helpful. Amo is an exceptional Duty Manager. Abdul and Rebecca at the front desk were very helpful and caring. The doorman with the top hat knew everything about where to go and see. I cannot forget Sophie with her lovely smile and sense of humor, always stopped and took a moment to chat with us. I chose this hotel because it was in the heart of London. I will visit again because of the staff.

Exquisite place to stay and the breakfast is amazing! We?ll be coming back!
Safety: The hotel felt very secure despite being in a busy area of london with lots of homeless people sleeping on the streets and protestors banging drums at Piccadilly Circus.
Walkability: Just a 2 min walk from Piccadilly underground.
Food and drinks: Breakfast was amazing and worth the extra cost.

We loved the London themed afternoon tea, attention to detail and flavours were amazing. The cakes and biscuits taste even better than they look and the setting was so nice. I was a bit apprehensive as it wasn't cheap and there are so many options in London but everything about it was great. Hotel staff were friendly and helpful

Having been to an Afternoon Tea at The Dilly before I knew what to expect as it's always been delicious, so once I had seen their London Afternoon Tea advertised I just knew I had to come back! The attention to detail on the London themed pastries was incredible, hats off to the chefs because not only did they look great, they tasted great too! We managed to eat all the savouries, but hit a wall when it came to the sweets. So anything we left we were kindly given a takeaway box to take away anything to enjoy at home. The servers are always so friendly and really take the time to go through the menu and constantly ask if everyone is enjoying themselves or if anyone needs anything etc. It really is a great treat for those special occasions and would definitely come back to sample their lunch menu one day.

Great place. I went with my husband and 4 year old for afternoon tea on Mothers Day weekend. I was a bit worried looking at some of the reviews but we had a great time! Food was fresh and tasted delicious. I'm still thinking about the Big Ben chocolate :-) We were looked after by the lovely Ivy who made sure we were never without anything. Thanks for a lovely afternoon x

It was beautiful. Was a really nice venue and the views of London are amazing. Also the afternoon tea was absolutely delicious and a total recommendation for me the scones, sandwiches and all the treats were absolutely delicious and mouthwatering and an experience we will not forget! The Big Ben cake was too cute!

I visited Terrace at the Dilly for the "Christmas edition" of their afternoon tea on 12/18. Upon arrive at The Dilly, the lobby was beautiful decorated for Christmas, but I saw no signs telling me where I should go for the restaurant so I asked a gentleman sitting at a desk towards the elevators. He wasn't very friendly, but told me it was on the 2nd floor and directed me to the elevators. Once at the restaurant, I was seated at a small table right by the wall where everyone enters and exits. Without having to mention it, my server immediately asked if I would prefer to sit by the window and I was so appreciative. Even though it was a. dreary day, it was nice looking outside. My server didn't "give me the run down of afternoon tea" like I heard him do for others who said this was their first time there, but he was nice enough and answered any questions I had. The menu for the food was of course set, but he happily swapped out a sandwich I didn't want and gave me a double of another. I also liked that you could get as much tea and/or coffee as you wanted. I started with a mocha (very yummy) and ended with tea. He also offered to take my picture once all of the food came, which I thought was nice. I'm American so I haven't done many "afternoon teas" and my expectations of British "tea food" may be skewed, but overall I enjoyed everything. I would rate the sandwiches as "average", but it's afternoon tea so I'm not expecting gourmet sandwiches, more like just a savory snack. I also liked the scones. I'm not a fan of flaky, dry, biscuit like scones, so I liked that they were a little denser. And I loved the clotted cream and jam/jelly! I generally don't like jam/jelly, but it was delicious! The desserts were beautiful and creative, no doubt and in my opinion, captured the essence of London! The "Big Ben" was chocolate filled with creamy caramel-- very yummy, but very sweet. The "phone booth" was poppy seed cake with lemon frosting [under the fondant & white chocolate outer layer]. The lemon frosting was a little too lemony for my liking, but I tend to not like stronger fruit flavors in cakes so I understand that that is probably my preference rather than the quality of the dessert. By the time I got to the macaron I was full, so I wrapped it in a napkin and took it with me (they said they didn't have small boxes/bags) but it got crushed and I never ate. Overall though, I enjoyed my Christmas afternoon tea at The Dilly and was satisfied with the food and experience. It was on the higher end of what I wanted to pay (49 pounds), but still way less than some other well-known places. If ever in London again, I would consider coming back to the eat at The Dilly and recommend it was a nice afternoon tea experience.

We requested the heat to be turned down, which never happened. We stayed with you for a total of 3 nights. I have not had a full nights sleep during any of those nights, I was either woken by house keeping staff being verbally noisy or by the crashing and banging of their trolleys outside our room. The lack of consistency in relation to housekeeping was also very dissatisfying. The water bottle in the room was only replaced once during our 3 night stay. One night we decided to have a drink the downstairs bar, a member of bar staff stated that if we tipped on our card the tip would be shared amongst the rest of the staff and he would not get as much. He then requested cash as this would be better for him. The entire experience was embarrassing for everyone concerned. Our friends who were also staying with you (from the USA, where there is a very different tipping culture) were also very shocked at the lack of decorum and tact from your staff. On the morning of our checkout the housekeeping team knocked on our door 3 times to basically ask us to leave. I was under the impression that checkout was at midday not when your team needed to turn the room around. We had to utter the sentence ?can you please leave us alone?.The entire stay has been very disappointing and we were made to feel so unwelcome by your team in the end it was a relief to be leaving. The doorman (a gentleman from Yorkshire) was very professional and informative, both he and Abdul are the best assets you your business.Walkability: Great location but service and staff need immediate improvement.

Chose to have the London afternoon tea for my birthday and wanted to have a more ?fun? tea for my 8 year old daughter. Sadly this is looks over taste. Expected the room to be decorated for Xmas -the restaurant downstairs looked gorgeous but upstairs in the terrace you are greeted by a flower wall then once on the terrace it is drab and no decoration except small flowers in the tables. The sandwiches were tiny and the flavours were non existent. The scones were warm but heavy and the cakes were also tasteless. Thoroughly disappointing and a waste of money. Nothing special for my birthday either. You just expect more for an afternoon tea in. London hotel. We?ve been to the Drawing rooms in Kensington which was fantastic and the Berkeley for the fashion tea which was also super. This one was terrible.
