Went for lunch 16 April and had a wonderful time. What an impressive building, steeped in history. The waiting staff were very friendly and professional. The food was so tasty. I can recommend the trout with pea puree. There is a nice wine list too. The chef came out to chat to us to see how we liked the food. You dont get that sort of service in most restuarants. Stayed for lunch for 2 hours, no rush to have to leave. A lovely place in all. Its a bit of a pity, people dont realise its open to the public. I shall return. And you should go.

Attended the tasting evening and had a wonderful night. Full marks to the chef and his team. I recommend they make a suggestion of wine/beer that could be tried with each course.

A delightful evening! It all started with the location, I wasn't quite sure what to expect, but walking through the main entrance of Low Society led to a surprisingly warm and cosy atmosphere. Bit of a hidden gem, to be honest.
The staff were lovely, properly welcoming, and you could tell they genuinely enjoyed what they were doing. Always smiling and engaging in friendly conversation, which gave the whole place a really relaxed and inviting feel.
Ian, the manager, was particularly impressive. Super professional and kind. He took the time to guide me through the wine selection, helping me pair each wine thoughtfully with the dishes. I ended up learning quite a bit; his knowledge is remarkable.
The food? Spot on. Beautifully plated and packed with flavour. Honestly, for the price, the menu?s a steal.
Six Clerks offers a delightful dining experience in a charming setting. I would gladly return.

Six Clerks is such a cosy and inviting spot inside The Law Society, The food was absolutely incredible. Chef Scott Dineen created a five course tasting menu celebrating British spring produce, and every dish was a hit.
We started with London sourdough and burnt onion butter - simple, rich, and the perfect way to begin. Then came ?Down the Rabbit Hole?, a beautifully done pressed rabbit terrine with lemon verbena emulsion and black olive - so delicate and full of flavour.
Next up, ?Eggs ?n? Soldiers?, which was hands down one of my favourites. A creamy Lancashire bomb custard, firecracker jam, a soft pheasant egg, and Wye Valley asparagus - comforting but elevated.
?Mary Had a Little Lamb??perfectly cooked Romney Marsh lamb, with smoked belly curds, morels, wild garlic, and kombu dashi. Every element worked together beautifully.
?The Crossover?, a clever play on a hot cross bun with sherry caramel, whipped Baron Bigod cheese, and black truffle - sweet, savoury, and completely addictive.
And finally, dessert: ?The Humble Carrot? - a gorgeous mix of carrot cake, ice cream, pickled walnuts, orange marmalade, and dill granita. Unexpected, refreshing, and the perfect way to end.
The whole experience was thoughtful, balanced, and absolutely delicious. Highly recommend.

Amazing food and lovely setting!

Awful. Restricted menu because Admissions function was on. 1 meat dish on starter, 1 meat dish on mains - both were chicken. Standard of food served was ordinary. Service was v poor.

Quite interesting going into the Law Society for lunch. I thought the food was all done pretty well and I enjoyed it. The fish and mussels were well cooked and tender and the braised cabbage wasn?t what I was expecting but I enjoyed it. I had to ask for the fries to be replaced as they were just warm and the server had no problem with that and the fresh fries were suitably hot and crispy. The only disappointment was they weren?t doing desserts as too early in the year and not financially viable apparently! I couldn?t even get a lemon or lime for my coke.
Quite cosy, comfortable chairs and I?d definitely come again.

This restaurant is a hidden gem. Food is amazing, service excellent and you can actually have a conversation, no background chatter or music, very peaceful and relaxing.

Really enjoyed my lunch at 6 Clerks. Very nice layout and coisy atmosphere, with very well executed dishes. I was impressed with the flavours and look of what we ordered, very pretty and very tasty.

We were there as part of an event, Wine Society 150 year celebration, so 6 Clerks only provided the set food. Took our own wine.

I appreciate it has been a busy month with Christmas parties etc occurring in the evenings, however service was extremely slow and lacklustre, options were limited due to stock running low and food was mediocre, particularly for the prices they are charging. There was us on one table, another table with a few people on it and a gathering for 8 or so people on another table. Considering it wasn?t that busy, food took a while to come out and the waiter kept forgetting our drinks. When it eventually arrived the food itself left a lot to be desired: the starter was dry, the burger was as average as a burger can get and the desert was good but didn?t really perform to excuse the other courses. I?m not a fan of writing highly critical reviews with little praise, I understand how hard working/managing hospitality and food industries can be during the Christmas season in particular, but I?m afraid if I choose to treat myself to lunch at a restaurant with family and be charged prices like that then I expect a consistent and quality service + food, otherwise there is little point to coming out in the first place. I hope this is reflected upon and this isn?t their usual standard. I must acknowledge at least the waiter was apologetic for forgetting the drinks.

I booked this eaterie for my son and partner and I?m afraid they said it was ?okay - nothing special?. Service was slow despite only a party of 12 in the entire restaurant. It is always a shame when experiences are disappointing in terms of money and time. Up your game please ?The 6 Clerks?!
