Waited for over 20 minutes to deposit a cheque as they were evidently understaffed. Few customers raised this and employees were rude, condescending and passive aggressive. I then approached the desk to ask about a business cheque despoit and they told me couldnt be done and spoke to me like im stupid. Terrible customer service, with no assistance. Rude people

Terrible customer service. Tried to pay a credit card (not even a large amount) and my account got locked. Came into the branch to unlock it. Have been waiting for 30 mins for branch to call some internal team, still no resolution. Will of course be closing my account with Santander.

Utterly rude staff. Have been served by one of the two ladies and to my dismay I felt like being served by a spoilt child and not by a professional bank cashier. During our approx 10 min interaction she responded passively -aggressively on the verge of being verbally aggressive. I am stil in shock that such service can be regarded as acceptable by one of the leading banks. Bringing an official complaint immediately.

Terrible service, refused to set up digital banking for me and refused to give me a print out of my direct debits,found the lady to be abrupt and rather unfriendly

Terrible service!I tried to open an ISA account before the end of the tax year. Because of the late application the website suggested I don't send my documentation by post but go and do it in a branch.I did that, gave them the copies and they assured me that the account would be opened before the end of the tax year and that I will get an email with the login details.A month of waiting and chasing later (and now well into the following tax year and it turns out the branch still has my copies and never sent them.I instructed them to cancel my application but have lost a considerable amount of money by not being able to get my money into the account in time.

Very disappointed with the service here. Waited in the queue to be advised the wrong thing. This wasted my time and energy and money going back and forth when your workers could be more trained. Instead of giving me a heads up through call or the app to tell me I?ve been misinformed I?ve had to chase them. The complaints team dealt with this situation very well. However, they could?ve saved all the hassle by having the right information

Terrible service in opening an account. Lost my documentation, lost my application. Will just go to another bank to open an account. Avoid.

9time at the 10 time i wlk there to go put cash the cash machine do not take cash been the only branch on the area it should be better organize and prepare for people that need to come put cash from outside as inside dogs are not authorised very bad servise i am thinking to change bank

Too few staff and those that are there were slow and unhelpful. They made a 90yr old man in front of me stand in the que for 40min without assistance. Shocking customer service.

Poor customer care and outdated banking.I am an international student who is trying to open an account with Santander for months. I've encountered some technical issues back in October 2021 therefore I booked an appointment. After waiting for two months, I visit the branch just to find out that they do not know how to resolve it themselves.I want to open a Current Savings Account so my parents could finally send me my allowance. Instead, I am dealing with the problem of opening an account because my course started more than 12 months ago and I have less than two years left to study. This issue wouldn't let me proceed with my applicant therefore the branch manager changed my course start date to 2021.After I submitted my documents, I receive an email saying that my verification failed because according to my documents, my course started 2020. Just a reminder that the UK was in lockdown and I was back home doing my first year online. This is my first year arriving to the UK since my course started.Meanwhile, I managed to open two accounts with other banks in minutes which makes me wonder what's in it for me? Why should I choose Santander when they provide such a poor customer service and have an outdated system?I hope Santander addresses this feedback so other students wont have to waste several months waiting.
