This is a good little store, however I don?t know if this is part of the London prices, it?s quite expensive for products that you can get elsewhere

I had an incredibly disappointing experience at Sainsbury?s Strand store yesterday. I went there to do some dinner shopping and picked up two bottles of prosecco along with other items. However, at the till, I was treated terribly by a staff member named "Renzo" and the manager on duty.
They repeatedly asked me to show an ID, which is standard, but when I presented my e-visa (the only form of identification I have as an immigrant under the UK?s new paperless system), they outright refused to accept it. They insisted on a physical ID, which is simply not possible given the electronic nature of e-visas.
While I understand that English might not be Renzo?s first language, working in customer service requires not only communication skills but also an awareness of company policies, especially those that impact a diverse customer base. Despite my explanations, I was met with unhelpful and dismissive responses.
The manager, a blonde woman, was even worse. She appeared preoccupied with her gadgets and, when I approached her for assistance, responded with rude and curt phrases such as ?so,? ?no,? and ?we can have this debate for hours.? She outright refused to listen to my concerns or offer any reasonable solution. Her attitude was unprofessional, condescending, and far from what you would expect from someone in a managerial role.
As an immigrant, it?s incredibly frustrating to be in a situation where I cannot provide a ?physical? visa because the system has transitioned to electronic documents, yet staff members remain unaware of such developments. This lack of knowledge and the dismissive, unprofessional attitude not only made for a terrible customer experience but also reflects poorly on Sainsbury?s reputation.
To make matters worse, after this experience, I discovered many other reviews highlighting the same issues with this store. Numerous customers have reported poor service, especially concerning the blonde female manager, whose unprofessional behavior seems to be a consistent problem.
I strongly urge Sainsbury?s management to address this.

A handy store on my way to the station.
The staff are great at sorting trouble, I have this too many times here.
Fewer stars due to lack of produce, extra stars due to great staff who are very professional.

The Blond female staff member (possibly supervisor) who works here at the weekends was extremely hostile to me!
I always stop get buy a drink and groceries after walking my dog along the embankment. Saturday was the umpteenth time I have gone there and would like to buy wet dog food.
Old mother Hubbard had more on her shelves!!!
Once again the shelves were empty of pet food!!.
When I ?politely? asked this staff member ?why?? She snapped that ?this Sainsbury?s is not a ?superstore. It?s a local sainsbury and why would they have a need for dog food?!?!
I asked her why they have a shelf for it then!
Don?t have a pet food shelf for pet food if it?s always empty. All that was on there on Saturday was kitten milk!?! The rest of the shelf was empty!
Clearly there is a need for dog food as all the food that should be on the shelf had been purchased!
It was not late in the day, only around 5pm. Why is the shelf not restocked when it?s sold out?
I will be back to take a look at the pet food shelf, if it?s empty again I?ll photo and upload.
This staff member needs some customer service training.
And I do hope the under tone I could hear was not a covert type of attitude towards my appearance as this area is one of the most diverse hubs in London. I?d hate to think this is what the visitors are encountering?

It's an OK shop, but how can a supermarket not have a freezer section and therefore no Icecream!

27th JULY TOMMY ROBINSON MARCH!! We was stopped by security trying to enter, because we was related to the march. Shame on you sainsbury's, we was trying to protect our country. I will never shop with you again!!!!

The self scan machine kept having to have a worker come over to fix it by scanning their ID badge and the quick pop into the shop took much longer than it should have

Rude security yesterday afternoon, he was being sarcastic saying you can?t put the money in, you don?t know how to use the checkout and all this things and he was tapping my shoulder like why? Like I?m not comfortable with this at all, and sales assistant, he came cause I asked for help and he looked at me in a way and gave me a side and he didn?t helped just walked away. Can I report this bad experience to the management? Do they even care?

Disappointed with the customer service. An employee called Iqbal repeatedly asked to see my ID after having shown it to his other colleague 5seconds ago and then wanted to take hold of my ID. Very frustrating and disappointing. Won?t be coming here again
