From the moment you walk down the steps to the restaurant to the moment you leave, you are cosseted, cherished and (in the nicest possible way) stuffed. This is a leisurely process - we spent over four hours consuming sixteen jewel-like courses and a variety of brilliantly matched wines - and makes for a highly memorable occasion. Is it expensive? It costs a large amount of money, yes, but also feels good value.
From many memorable dishes, the ones that stood out for me were a tuna tartlet (the impossibly fine pastry flavoured with boiled-down tuba bones) and a potato & caviar dish in which the butter : potato ratio rivalled that in the notorious Jamin recipe.
The wine list needs a weightlifter to handle it safely. There are some 2,000 wines; some of the prices make you gasp and stretch your eyes, but there is a vast amount of interest and also pockets of reasonable pricing.
What we loved most was that every single person delivering the experience, from the receptionists to chef patrons Jason and Spencer, were equally enthusiastic and equally committed to giving each and every customer a memorable experience.
Wonderful place.

THE best Dining experience I have ever had. You are welcomed in, by Jason & Spencer as if you had arrived at their very smart City open-plan Penthouse. A conventional Restaurant it is not. Their attention to detail is staggering: From the handmade glass dishes, to the work involved in creating each element that make up all the visually stunning Courses. These Chefs have strived to take food to an unbelievable level. However, no complacency, as they are driven by believing their Menu can be developed further - but I?m not sure how!
Such a special and memorable occasion and one I feel privileged to have been able to experience.

This must surely be up there with the world's best restaurants...from the moment you enter to a complimentary coat dry clean, the service is incredible. The food is something that will live long in my memory, highlights being the two part langoustine dish and stilton tartlet. An absolute masterclass in flavour and technique. If you're still reading, close this review and just GO!

Incredible!
On arrival reception take your coat with the offer of a complimentary dry clean! Fabulous!
The whole experience was first class, Spencer and Jason are a match made in heaven and was an honour to actually get to chat to the chefs having been huge fans of their work.
Every dish is a taste explosion and perfect. Service from all staff is perfect! The whole visit was perfect!
Best restaurant we have ever been to and we have been to some tops ones. Cannot wait to go back :-)

Usually tasting menus as long as this one have some misses somewhere; a dessert that?s a bit too bitter, a fish course overcooked maybe. Not so here. Every course was outstanding, and I found myself thinking ?that?s the best one yet? more often than sensible throughout the evening. The turbot, the scallop, the langoustine done two ways, the chocolate and artichoke dessert, and the hazelnut financiers were true standouts, along with the petit four tray (shoutout to the matcha mochi tart), and the char siu puff with the mains. The non-alcoholic pairing was also great, being clearly considerate to the menu and with a good amount of house-made drinks as well. Even the music, which I've never found myself commenting on, was a fantastic list of songs at a perfect volume; ask for the QR code if you like it. That?s not to mention all the little extras and personalisations that made it perfect. To top it all off, they dry clean your coat as well!
Memorable from start to finish. Thank you for a wonderful evening, every single person there made it special.

We did the lunch service and it was a stellar experience! It is an extensive menu across a downstairs lounge and an upstairs dining room with an intimate atmosphere. Having tried some other tasting menus this year, this felt great value for the 13 (or is it even 15) course menu. Small bites such as Oyster and pearl and the blue fish tuna were excellent. Really enjoyed the 2-part Langoustine course as well as the Scallop. The fish and mains courses hit the spot and the dessert was delightful with its various textures (artichoke ice cream, mousse, biscuit-y textures and the sherry sauce). And then the sweet bites kept coming ? from the little cakes to the extensive petit four plus a little celebration cake we got for our special occasion. Really enjoyed the coffee too!
All in all, this is a grand experience - with the beautiful wine-lined rooms, massive swirly decanters for wine, magnum Sauternes trolleys and petit four cabinets; with Chefs Atherton and Metzger serving courses and explaining the dishes. Go big :) Highly recommend!

A mighty fine dining experience - it won?t be long before those coveted stars will be hanging next to the door. Spencer and Jason have created something that feels extremely refined and luxurious, but at the same time authentic and full of personality. 13 courses of some of the best cooking you?ll find in the UK, a gorgeous (and reasonably priced) wine pairing, the highest standard of service in an opulent setting with an outrageous level of detail in everything. Favourite dishes include the tuna tartlet and cheese and onion snacks, a really special langoustine dish, a perfect scallop, king of the sea washed down with my king of Burgundy (Mersault, I love you forever), I could go on. So many highlights. Basically, book it. You will not regret your actions.
