Pavilion Bakery serves what might be the best Americano I?ve had in London so far ? rich, smooth, and full of flavour, strong but never bitter or watered down. There?s a lovely warmth and texture that?s hard to find.
I usually order it with just a tiny bit of oat milk, and they?re always so careful and thoughtful about getting it just right. That kind of attention really shows.
The staff are simply amazing ? friendly, warm, and welcoming. It?s the perfect place to start your day with great coffee and great people.

Distracted, passive-aggressive / rude staff.
Card only payments for some obscure reason, no cash accepted! (Is that even legal??) Third and final visit - awful customer experience.

OVERPAY FOR BAD COFFEE AND PAY YOUR STAFF?S WAGES TOO???
Screaming hot coffee and it was also burnt. Two things a coffee needs to be - drinkable temperature and not burnt to bitterness. It was neither. Not that they care - they?re selling bread for a fiver a pop all day long to the smug morons of high end Hackney so they?ll carry on profiting while offering horrific fayre. It used to be good round here
EDIT: they didn?t even stir the sugar in so I had an unsweetened coffee with a hit of sickly sweet sludge to finish. If you insist on doing the sugar FOR me, do it right.
They also have a pushy tipping screen you have to press NO to before you can pay. Horrible vibe. Also, who?s tipping a quid when they?re already paying Hackney coffee prices? And anyway,
A it?s only a coffee, not a restaurant or even a bar!
B the service doesn?t warrant rewarding.
C and most importantly, PAY YOUR STAFF A LIVING WAGE - don?t expect your customers to top their wages up for you. Maybe they?d be happier and friendlier to your customers too. SHAMEFUL

Very cute place to get a coffee. We got the turmeric bun to share recommended by the staff and it was delicious. Reasonable prices and great pastry

Still happens? ignored by staff when I?m ready to buy bread. As a local who lived around the corner- you?d think staff would make an effort to be welcoming. Shame on them?
Continually this Pavilion and its staff ignore customers when they walk in and are fully prepared, with Keep Cup in hand, to pay for bread and coffee. Equally as bad - they are slow in the mornings and more interested in playing music than welcoming customers. Just terrible.

The woman at the till charged me £6 instead of £4 for a pain a chocolat. A few minutes later I realised what happened and went back to tell her. I didn?t have to explain, she already knew her mistake. She did nothing to inform me in the first place and let me leave. Unbelievable!
