Stale bread, should have been called a crisp bread. Probably the most 'dry' ham n cheese I've ever had. Nice cheese though.

Such a nice PAULS. Smiling friendly and really helpful staff. The cakes were nice and soft and you could tell they were freshly made.

Although the food is lovely the hygiene and attitude from stuff is awful, in my 10 minutes within the store I witnessed a staff member sneeze into her hand and then merely run it under water for two seconds before then touching peoples food, another staff member was cleaning the sides with a dirty cloth and without washing her hands started to touch the food, then brushing up the dirt from the counter and holding the waste pan over the food while she was chatting to a colleague, Paul is such a lovely cafe and I?ve always purchased from them but the Hampstead branches hygiene standards really ruin the experience.

The number of times this restaurant gets my delivery order wrong by not including an item or providing half a coffee is incredible! Sandwich, pastry, coffee. It?s three items guys. Three! This should not be beyond you?

The best cake shop in Hampstead

In a business where there is an extra charge to eat in, there should at least be a place where we can wash our hands. I don't know, maybe this thought is not accurate, but that's my opinion. Other than that, I had the Eclair Paris Brest and it was delicious.

The last few times I bought the fraisier cake in the past years it was not good at all. It used to be my favourite cake that I bought for my family?s birthdays every year and I thought maybe I just had a bad batch but they seem to have changed the recipe. The taste is incomparably inferior now despite the price having gone up

I regularly buy mixte sandwiches from the Hampstead branch - today I bought three for my family. The bread was so stale and hard that is inedible which is most unusual.
When I called very politely to discuss rather complain the response was ?sorry all gone -sold out? and the call was terminated (by Paul staff) - not a great retail experience

I had an extremely concerning experience with the customer service at the Hampstead branch and wanted to check Google reviews to see if it was just me being overly sensitive. However, to my surprise, I found several similar incidents, with some even mentioning the same staff member involved.
As a regular customer of this branch, I hadn?t noticed any issues before, so it seems this may be isolated to one particular staff member, Izabella, who identified herself as the supervisor.
To summarise, I visited the store today after purchasing a Charlotte cake a few days ago. Despite scanning my loyalty card at the time, the purchase wasn't showing up in the app.
I politely inquired with Izabella to understand if there was a delay or a tech issue. However, before I could even finish my sentence, Izabella rudely interrupted, saying, ?You scanned yourself!?, ?I was not here!?, and ?I can?t help you!?
Rather than offering any assistance or suggesting a resolution, Izabella?s attitude was dismissive and very rude, which seems to align with the other Google reviewers? experiences.
Taken aback by her response, I left the store feeling shocked and uncomfortable, keen to avoid any further outbursts

I am writing to express my disappointment with both the customer service and the quality of a cake I purchased from your store.
On 20th March, I placed an order for a cake to be picked up the following morning, as I specifically wanted a fresh cake for my daughter?s birthday. However, when I arrived at the store, the staff member handling my order?whom I have encountered before and is consistently rude?had written ?cake off the shelf? on the receipt. When I politely inquired about receiving a freshly prepared cake instead, her response was simply, ?It?s fresh!?
Given that I live only two minutes from the store and the weather was a cool 7°C at 7:45 AM, there was no reason for the cake to appear as it did upon arrival home. (Please see the attached photo for reference.)
This experience was both frustrating and disappointing. Not only was the service unprofessional, but the dismissive attitude of the staff member (lady with a white coat and black rimmed glasses) left me feeling undervalued as a customer. I strongly urge Paul?s to provide customer service training to ensure staff treat patrons with respect and professionalism.

I have been buying from Paul all my life, and if I could give this Hampstead branch a minus 1 star I would. The staff are incredibly rude and disrespectful. I spoke to a woman regarding spoiled strawberries on 2 tarts I ordered on Deliveroo, and she cut the call while I was speaking. I did not spend long on the call with her after receiving the order.
The fact that I was sent spoiled stagers is incredibly disappointing since I called the branch before they started to prepare my order, ask politely for decent strawberry tarts.
Deliveroo will not issue a refund, and I should not have to contact Deliveroo, as this branch should not be sending me spoiled items in the first place.
I would not have written this review, however this is the third time this branch has sent me spoiled food through Deliveroo. Be aware that if you order from this branch online, they will send you items they wouldn?t sell in-store because no one would buy them due to their poor condition. Save your money and avoid this branch.
Rather than apologising for the inconvenience of having to commute to the store for compensation, Isabella was argumentative and extremely rude asking me to leave for no reason. I was very polite and civil when speaking and I can not say the same for her. Avoid, avoid, avoid!

Today, for my girls' lunch I bought 2 ham&cheese baguettes and asked for them to be heated. Both were badly burnt, blackened on both sides. My 2 cappuccino also tasted burnt and watery (How, I wonder?).
The wait was rather long for the baguettes while there was a noticeable burn smell in the cafe. However I thought it came from the oven at the back. We only saw the burnt, hardened lunch when I finally reached my daughters 15 min later. So, apparently, the staff simply scrapped off the charred bits and handed me the not so delicately smoked gourmet. I had loved smoked dishes before elsewhere, but that was the gorgeous salmon by Norwegian fjord.
