If you're visiting the City, the Malmaison is well-located, close to the Barbican and Farringdon tube stations (with the latter giving direct access to Heathrow via the Elizabeth line). The rooms are cozy and comfortable, with enough room to sleep, work and read. The building is old and sometimes it shows; both elevators were out of order for a few hours during my stay, but there are rooms on the ground floor for guests with mobility concerns. The staff were pleasant and helpful, answering my questions and storing my bag before check-in and after check-out. I'll certainly consider it for my next business trip to London.Walkability: Less than 5 minutes' walk to Barbican and Farringdon (Elizabeth line) tube stations; 10 minutes' walk to the Barbican.

There's a super rude guy working at the front desk. We went to the hotel to retrieve our luggage after checking out, went in the dining room where they were stored, expecting to find a staff member there to help (as there was someone in there when we were asked to put our bags there in the morning). The room turned out to be empty so we took our luggage and were about to leave.. when this man showed up and started to tell us off because we were there to get OUR OWN BAGS. It was a very upsetting situation where he had to first assume we were bad people to be THAT RUDE to us. We didn't pick a lock, it wasn't a private storage room, and it's not our fault that no one was there to look after people's luggage. Despite his "concern", he didn't end up checking our luggage tags when I offered them to him, so what's with all the fuss?? At least be consistent with your act.

Great hotel, good location in the city. Staff and service on the low side it is very much a self serve feel. Sadly the lifts were out for a part of our stay not like anyone seemed to think that was not a massive issue for a hotel.Overall normally location is so handy it overcomes the short comings.

Victor, the receptionist at Malmaison Hotel in London, is an absolute gem! From the moment I stepped through the door, his warm welcome and exceptional hospitality set the tone for a wonderful stay. Not only did he efficiently check me in, but he also took the time to offer recommendations for nearby attractions and restaurants, enhancing my experience in London. The breakfast at Malmaison was truly amazing, with a delicious spread that catered to every palate. The superb rooms were not only stylish and comfortable but also impeccably clean, providing a relaxing retreat after a day of exploring the city. And let's not forget the unbeatable location, making it easy to access all the sights and sounds of London. Victor's professionalism and attention to detail truly made my stay memorable, and I can't wait to return to Malmaison Hotel for another delightful experience.King regards,Ant Birmingham

Room was on the smaller side. Unfortunately there is no real gym just a couple of treadmills. Restaurant was good and worth a try.

Is it worth the high price tag? Maybe ...This hotel is located in a good location, in a beautiful building, and the staff are really lovely. The rooms themselves are really nice and were clearly decorated to a high standard once upon a time. However, for the price, I was expecting some more facilties like a mini fridge. The bathroom is also really nice and decorated to a high standard. However, I am not keen on clouded glass doors dividing the rooms. Sadly, I could have also had a better shower standing in the rain outside with the lack of water pressure ...Even though everything was initially decorated really well, they really needed to do some upkeep as it was a bit tatty in areas of the room. The basic breakfast was quite disappointing, so I upgraded ... for which was really nice and cooked very well, but not worth the £25 upgrade price.Would I return ... they really need to have a look and compare themselves to NYX, for which is my favourite hotel in Holborn. That is the level Malmaison should be at for the price tag they set.The biggest positive though ... this was the best sleep I have ever had in any hotel, as their beds are just so comfortable, and this easily tips the balance for me.

Victor can be very brusque at the front desk. You may feel like you walked into a hostile environment at first. Once you get used to him he is not so bad, a character for sure, meticulous, verbose, but harmless. There was an inflexibility about the place. You will be called in your room at 11am if you haven?t checked out yet. The rooms are ok, a little tired but ok. The highlight of this hotel is its location.

It's a pity that there is no refrigerator in the room.

Beautiful building outside, inside was inviting and comfortable. Stayed in club deluxe room and size was very good for London and good value. Breakfast was excellent. Staff very friendly and helpful. One star taken off room because bed was not actually a king size bed, was two singles pushed together.

Beautiful hotel, rooms are fantastic but the reception staff are very rude. The receptionist took an extra £150 of us on checking in, which left us short from our budget. We couldn't do one of the things that we came here to do.When i asked what it was for She said it was in case we wanted to get anything from the hotel. When I told her we weren't going to use the hotel bar or restaurant, she just shrugged her shoulders and insisted she took it anyway as it was company policy. When we checked out, I complained about the company policy, and they told us this wasn't their policy and why didn't I complain to the management, how was I to know it wasn't policy if she told me it was. This has definitely left us not wanting to stay here again. This is a massive shame because, as I said, the hotel is stunning and in a brilliant part of London, but you have lost us to one of your competitors.Maybe there needs to be some staff training done.Rooms: Rooms are beautiful and clean
