This bookstore boasts a truly phenomenal selection ? it seems they have more books than physical space to contain them! The staff's knowledge across all genres is equally impressive, making it a joy to explore new titles. I spent far more than anticipated in my purchases. We left with a lighter wallet and a heavy bag.

I have purchased great books at John Sandoe since the 1970?s . The shoppe is an international treasure . I live in Chicago, USA and always visit the store when I travel to London. The Team there is always helpful . In between visits the wonderful website helps me keep my library at home growing. Creative holiday and every day books as well as special autographed editions.

A brilliant purveyor of books. I had been searching for some time for books written by Algy Cluff - "Get On With It" and "Off The Cluff", to no avail in the major book retailers, but found it online on John Sandoe.I ordered the books and the team emailed to inform they did not have any in stock but would order them. Two days later they had dispatched the said books to Singapore.Excellent service and a pleasure to deal with!Highly recommend.

Nice little shop. 3 floors with all sorts of subjects both fiction and nonfiction. Didn't end up buying anything but was good to browse and enjoy the ambience.

An absolute tardis of a bookshop, perfect for hours of browsing on a rainy day. The staff were incredibly helpful and helped me dig out a book I?ve been trying to track down for months.

The best bookshop in London with the best staff. Magnus ran up and down the stairs and put together a fantastic collection of books for me and had them delivered. All the staff are interesting and interested. Forget buying on Amazon and go to John Sandoe, tell them the Princess sent you!

One of the best bookshops in the country. I think they have a good selection in travel, poetry, history, and art in particular. Eclectic layout perhaps but it makes browsing all the more fun. It?s worth subscribing to their catalogue/mailing list too for interesting recommendations.

This is one of my favorite places in London! Every time I visit I spend a couple hours here just getting lost in all the books. This is the quintessential book shop, hands down. Quaint, friendly staff, diverse genres of books. I am not sure how he did it, but I think this may be the pinnacle of book stores. I wish I lived in London so I could visit more often. Well done!
