Amazing restaurant with beautiful atmosphere and wonderful staff. The food was of a very high standard and the staff were friendly and professional.

Very good restaurant, but also not for everyone - the menu is not very ?universal?, as this place focuses on seafood dishes. They were tasty, nicely served and properly prepared. However, it?s not a five star restaurant to me, cause doing everything good is expected these days. And it was rather expensive, so one can expect a bit more.Kid-friendliness: This is not a place where you can expect preschool kids to have fun.

Simply outstanding food, service, and ambiance. We've eaten our way through the UK top to bottom and hands down, J. Sheekey was the best so far. The scallops were amazing. The Sole and Halibut were prepared perfectly. The sides were spot on, and the mango and passion fruit cheesecake was delicate and brilliantly prepared. It made the 20yr Tawny port shine. It was our pleasure to dine with you.

Five stars all the way for J Sheekey! In honesty the venues location initially made me concerned, anticipating another central London hyped restaurant.Fortunately we were delightfully surprised by both J Sheekey?s ambiance, service and most importantly food!Dishes sampled were: roasted octopus; oysters; roasted salmon; hake and the Dover sole which was served off the bone with béarnaise sauce ??If you?re also a fan of celebs, you can?t go far wrong!

Came to celebrate our anniversary. Can?t think of a better place to go to. The dinner was PERFECT. The dover sole and the crab burger were spectacular. Our waiter was phenomenal and we had a perfect evening.

Food was fine, but not outstanding and certainly not worth the price. What annoyed me was having plates of bread and butter plonked on our table, without being asked, and then without explanation or request, finding that we had to pay £2 per head as a ?cover charge?. We didn?t ask for bread and butter and we never touched it, either. There is no mention of this mysterious cover charge on the internet menu, either. Or is the cover charge to pay for the carafe of tap water, which we drank alongside our £46 bottle of house wine? My advice to future diners at Sheekeys is to instruct the waiter not to put bread and butter on the table, if no one plans to eat it. Don?t forget, the service charge goes on top! As for food, our modest lunch for four came to £216. No deserts and no starters for three of us, with the fourth (me) having the prix fixe two courses. That?s expensive in my book.

If you like fish, you'll love J Sheekey. Food quality is superb albeit a bit pricey, but where isn't these post pandemic days in London. Restaurant was established in 1896 and its probably only been refitted once or twice since then. It has an old school charm about that would be hard to replicate. You immediately feel cosy and relaxed as 100's of black and white photos of the stars of yesteryear gaze down upon you. It's certainly an experience.

Take note of the additional £2 per person to dine there which takes the service charge up by 8% for £100 or 4% for the £200 what we spent; hence total service the comes up to aStaggering 17.5%!Rather tacky exterior with excessive red furnishings and fake flowers. Interior is much more classy.Mains was good: monkfish masala curry and soft shell crab burger. The hake was good but on the small side. Gosh pie was bland unfortunately. The issues is the 13.5% rather than 12.5% was standard service and also an additional £2 per person which worked out to 4% of our bill which meant service charge was 17.5% for a service which was good but not outstanding! The £6 for water was unacceptable! lol

We were part of a group that had booked lunch for a reunion We had pre-ordered our choices The starters of salmon shashimi was well executed and the cheese and trouffle souffle was very good. The main of hake with a chorizo sprinkling on a tastelss cauliflower puree was good but not exciting After we had finished the waiters remembered they hadn't served chips and these were brought to the table. Good chips but wrong timing, despite a number of us asking earlier if there were any veggies with the main The baked cheesecake came with cherries rather than the advertsised strawberries We were served wine and water with the meal The service was not great, almost felt as if they resented us being there, at times the head waiter was outright hostile and argued about a mix up of orders, another waiter constanttly brusque dumped plates onto the table Pricey food Not recommended

Delicious seafood and exceptional customer service. I have wanted scallops for a while so decided on looking for a seafood restaurant whilst in London and came across J Sheeky after an online search. A quick search on trip advisor and we decided to give it a go and we?re glad we did. We did not have a booking but there was plenty of space on Wednesday around 5pm however started to get quite busy soon after. The scallops had a lovely chilli spice and the sea bass was the best I have ever had!

This restaurant is almost an institution for fish lovers eating in London. And my visits rarely disappoint. Food was lovely, scallops in a spicy sauce really exceptional. One small incident. I had ordered a glass of wine but before I had taken a sip knocked it over, so asked for another. Complete accident and completely my fault, no question! I got charged for both glasses, undoubtedly they were entitled to charge for both, but should they have done? I think other top class restaurants might not have! Not a mortal sin but it left me wondering if I had broken a glass or spilt my coffee would they have charged for replacing those items as well ?

When I'm in London I usually dine here with a group of friends as it's our favourite fish restaurant. Our recent experience was even better than the last occasion. I had the prawn cocktail for starters and fish pie for the main course. It was all absolutely delicious. My friends all enjoyed their meals too. The service is exceptionally good and the location just perfect, tucked away in a quiet terrace off St Martin's Lane. Highly recommended.

Booked a table at j sheekey, prior to going to the theatre, the service was excellent, probably the best lobster bisque since visiting Raymond Blancs restaurant in Oxford many years ago, we settled on the fish and chips for main course, again the fish was delicious, the batter cooked to perfection, our waitress was very attentive, as were the management, would always go back.
