Highams Park counselling centre, probably the best charity shop in Waltham Forest. Lots of bargains, pricing fair. Good selection and quality of novels and children's books. Read other people's posts of their and relatives' bad experience and calling for a boycott of custom and donations. All I can say is that people are human, not perfect. The charity raises money for metal health and well-being services. This is a small charity. It does very good and important work. Really, do you want to close down an important service because of one or 2 bad experiences?

A couple of days ago I bought some stuff from this charity shop, not being a local and visiting a friend in Highams park I decided to go in, I was rather baffled to their colour/pricing scheme. What looked to me as a dot of orange was blue to the lady in the counter! It was not clearly coloured, to my shock when i was paying it was a much higher amount then i had visioned from the price according to the colours, one of us was clearly colour blind! Now my question is why not price your items as all the shops do, and if you do use colours for pricing make it clear please! So no shock to the system and avoid embarrassment.

service and workers over there. Twice my 80 years old mother faced negligence over there. First time she was willing to get statue. Worker pulled it off from her hands because other client willing to get it as well. My mom was first who chose it, but worker took it backside. Second time another worker was pulling table cover saying to another people that ''this woman comming here every day and always complaining about everything". They don't have any rights to gossip about their clients! My mom holding two high level degrees. 1-st- pharmacologist for 55 years. 2-nd - She was creating microchips for satellites. I please you people to stop donations. Main amount of it will be shared between workers. My mom was a witness many times. Also I would like to bring them to the Civil Court. OPlaces like this must be shut.

Always super friendly and a warm welcome. Now the only charity shop in the immediate vicinity but has always been the nicest one. Many lucky bargains found since living in the area.

Contrary to the other review, all the staff I have met are all wonderful, kind and helpful, especially the owner Kim. Occasionally there is a new face behind the till, so I'm not saying the person who wrote the review below is lying, it's just not something I have ever noticed and I've been going to this shop for nearly a decade now. I always find treasures in this shop, whether books, clothes, shoes, handbags, jewellery, DVDs, furnishings, ornaments and other knick knacks. I bought a lovely suede-effect lamp for my sitting room for £2 only a few weeks ago, and once I found a long grey French Connection coat with matching trousers in excellent condition for £12, and a beautiful turquoise Karen Millen Basque for £6. I love popping in for a bargain and/or a chat, sometimes I even get a cup of coffee. Last but not least, Kim is a trained counsellor and always has an ear, a warm smile and a hug for anyone in need. You can book sessions at a reduced rate which I believe are funded by the shop, so don't forget to drop of your old clothes and any junk, which may well be someone else's treasure. PS: Patrycha, don't you mean xenophobic? However I'm also not English so...perhaps it was a one-off volunteer? Why don't you to go back and give it another try...? I'm sure you'll change your mind. :-)

Very rude staff, made me feel unwelcome. Racist people ! She told me that I have been long time in this shop but still do not hold anything to buy. Later she came back and sprayed something in the air close to me and child. She should be home not working for charity if can not provide friendly customer service

H.P.C.C is a great charity shop, i brought a great top and a lovely bracelet from there. Its a shop that sells all sorts from New, Vintage, Retro, Antiques as well as the general charity shop items of Clothes, Shoes, Bags, CDs, DVDs, Books and other items, and all at reasonable prices, So go and have a visit and look high, low and under things you never know what you might find. Also attached to the shop/centre they do counselling, which after talking the the great ladies there have told me that the charity shop helps fund low costing counselling sessions for people on low income. So everyone go and check it out......
