Really disappointing hotel for the price of £329. Felt very basic for how luxuriously it is positioned.Plus pointsStaff lovely, location great, beautiful older features / decor and bed comfy.but?Negative points.Minimal modern amenities you?d expect for the price.I booked the room earlier in the year and was £379 only to find same room on the same website for £329 the week before. It is a very old building but the stairs are a bit precarious.Rooms boiling with no real control. When I turned down aircon style control, room stayed boiling hot from radiator. No actual shower but a handheld telephone style shower in the bath with no screen - this is poor in this day and age.No bottled water in room as courtesy and had to get bottle from mini bar that was chargeable. Cmon that?s not hospitality for that price.Room really tight and have to squeeze past bed to get to bathroomNo iron / ironing board in room.Won?t go back but wanted to share so that people book it in the knowledge if they did want to book it.Noteworthy details: Really disappointing hotel for the price of £329. Incredible small.boitique hotel with amazing decor, very friendly and accommodating staff! Breakfasts are a must (especially the smoked salmon bagel). One of the most charming hotels I ever stayed in!

Not worth it. Pay the same or less in surrounding area that includes breakfast or at least complimentary tea, coffee, welcome drink.Tried as part of a project for lesser known hotels but advise a wide birth for Hazlitt. The rooms are charming but you could get boarding school nostalgia for far less.Essentially a high price for a layer check in, early check out and sleeping half the time.Noteworthy details: Zilch.

This is a real gem. We go up to London for a couple of nights before Christmas every year and stay at different hotels. This might be the exception as it is a delightful boutique hotel and will probably go back next year. It dates back to 1718 and the floors are uneven and stairs leaning which makes it all the more charming. In our room was secondary glazing which really blocked out the noise from the street. You really couldn't be more in the centre of Soho. There are two honesty bars in two lovely lounges. There were no lifts up to our room so if you do have mobility issues let the hotel know as there are lower rooms. We stayed here a week before Christmas and they were changing the Christmas trees that they had put up late November so that they were always looking fresh. All the rooms are unique with antique furniture.I cannot recommend Hazzlitts more highly.Nearby activities: You are a minute walk away from Ronne Scotts and plenty of restaurants and bars. I recommend 40 Dean Street.

Visitors arriving at Hazlitt?s hotel should be made aware of a significant theft risk.My husband had his briefcase stolen as we were transitioning from our cab to the hotel entrance.Although this transition is only a few steps from the curb to the hotel entry, it is across a busy public sidewalk which is poorly lit. While the cab driver distracted him, two men with face coverings made off with his case.We believe the theft was coordinated by the cab driver. On the drive to the hotel, we heard the driver talking in a foreign language, to someone and he specifically said the address of Hazlitts. Not only did the driver not help in getting our luggage out of the cab but as soon as the briefcase was taken, he sped away quicky without offering any assistance. My husband lost several thousand dollars of valuable personal items and documents in his briefcase Neither the cab company, Hazlitts, nor the police were of any help in identifying the perpetrators or offering any compensation to us for this traumatic event. Our insurance company tells us their coverage is only for items lost that were in the possession of a common carrier. The day after the theft, we saw signs posted on the nearby buildings warning people that pickpockets and luggage thieves were actively working in the area. If we had been aware of this situation, we would have known to guard our items more carefully.Hazlitts should warn arriving guests of this risk of theft. Better would be for Hazlitts to staff to come out to assist guests in making the hazardous transition from cab to front desk.Marion Speers, Dates of stay at Hazlitts: Oct. 14 ? 21, 2023.

Such a lovely place, makes you feel a part of history and like staying in a upscale proper English home . We stayed in the Joel Johnson room which was lovely, but at the top of the building, so if you are not good with 4/5 flights of stairs do ask for a room on a lower level . The sitting rooms were great on the 1st floor and we brought in some take away food and had a drink made from the ?Honesty Bar? they provide . You have to be Buzzed in the front door so that added security was also nice. The staff was amazing and very helpful with arranging car service to and from Heathrow . This property was ideal for reaching many sites of interest for us. Lots of pubs , and restaurants are very nearby.
