Delicious food , in a relaxing ambiance overlooking the Thames. *****

Lots of great food options and brilliant staff. If you sit in the bar area you get the view of Big Ben or the restaurant area mainly has the London Eye.

We had the steak meal deal. The steak was done well and the Triple cooked chips were great accompanied by a nice glass of wine

Was offered juice, asked if there was a charge because I was fine with water, was told it was free, said sure. Ordered pancakes, asked for the smaller plate (£13) as the larger (£18) was too big for me, got given a large plate, reiterated I didn't want the large, was told that *was* the small for £13. Bill came. £5.50 juice, £18 pancakes. Automatic service charge on top, bringing my bill almost £15 over what I ordered. Food itself was fine, but not worth what I paid.

Amazing cuisine. Totally recommend the sirloin on the bone. Must have the bone broth brûlée - it will surprise you.
Great view of the Thames.

Honestly its a expensive restaurant £80+ pp and expect not just excellent service
( which it was!) but the food was no where great nore good!
The steak was cheap cut and looked like had meat glue in it nore even seasoned with salt!
It was toby carvery standard and not £50+ per steak standard!!
The wait staff were fantastic and the lnly thing that didn?t give this a 1* overall review

Rude personnel, absolutely to avoid. We had a reservation at 20:45 which we were very unfortunately late for (we arrived at the restaurant at 21:30). I tried to call to advise in advance but unfortunately my European phone number cannot call the UK. We entered and were completely ignored by two people (a lady and a man) at the counter which literally saw us and ignored us. Once I communicated that I had the reservation and we were unfortunately late she said ?well I cancelled it already. You?re MORE than a bit late?. After that, our willingness to eat there went from 10 to -1. Please respect your guests even if they?re late as you don?t know the backstory. Moreover, they didn?t even try to contact us to check whether we were going or not. Obviously, we prefer to waste the reservation money rather than to dine at a ?restaurant that treated us poorly from the very beginning. Highly recommend the management to oversee who they hire and their staff. This lady literally ruined a special night for me and my boyfriend. To avoid.

Beautiful view, but slow and forgetful service. The comment, ?I?ll bring more water? was stated three times before it occurred. Food was generally good, but nothing special. Skip the brownie dessert, it was cloyingly sweet.

Went along on a Monday and had a great meal, slight hiccup with a voucher at bill time but the food was excellent and Sartak (?) our server was fantastic - great views over the river, lovely bottle of Rully and awesome STP - and yes it was a weird summer dessert choice on my part but zero regrets

Service was not as sold. Weren't provided with everything sold on the website. Made to feel like points weren't valid when asking why this service wasnt provided. Was looking to rebook following this for a meal for 35 people. Will not book here again although the steak was delicious

Food was subpar. Atmosphere felt more like a cafeteria than a fine dining establishment.
Served never returned to see if we wanted a refill of our empty wine glasses. When we asked for the bill he put it down in the table without a word as though we inconvenienced him. We expected more from such a high priced restaurant.

On of the best steak place in London? Staff are so attentive and friendly. You definitely feel like royalty here. Highly recommend, you won?t be disappointed.

Access to the restaurant from a discrete notice just before the Aquarium (if coming from Westminter Bridge) then up a lot of steps (it may be better via the hotel but this was not obvious) into a bar area with a crescent shaped dining room to the left.
We were part of a group and had plenty to chat about, but others might have found service a bit slow. Having placed our orders, taken with some care, it was disappointing that dishes had to be called out and arms waved to get the right one! Whilst the main dishes were fine, the triple cooked chips did not seem popular with many. My salad starter was tasty and interesting but one person seemed have got missed off the order and had to wait a while for his. My unusual rum based cocktail at least tasted as though it had some of the advertised spirit in it, unlike some I have had!
The room is very attractive but possibly not as a dining area. The wooden floor and wall panelling, combined with the high ceiling, made it very noisy and conversation difficult even though tables were well separated. I was shewn politely to the toilets, but irritated to find them labelled ?Restrooms?.
The staff were willing and friendly but seemed to lack a little co-ordination as different people arrived to take the same order. And they were a bit enthusiastic in clearing plates while some people were still eating. At least they seemed to be enjoying their jobs!
By definition, in a tourist hot spot, it was not going to be cheap but for around £100 a head, including some alcohol, I would have hoped for a more professional experience. I would suggest you visit the bar, get much better views, and give the restaurant a miss.

Very nice service from friendly staff. The drinks were nice; a good wine list and very good cocktails (thought price is what it is given location)
Starters were nice - had the goats cheese salad and colleagues had a variety of things,
Fries nice, as was the sauce bearnaise. I will say they also did very well on the vegan options.
The main issue was the steak, and given this is a steak restaurant that is an issue. Medium rare order came out blackened and burnt outside and what I would call well done inside. Same for most of the rest of the orders all over cooked. Meat fairly tough too.

Gillray?s was a mixed review overall given the cost overall I expected better. The location is stunning overlooking the Thames and Westminster however today the blinds were down meaning no views of the river. The service was pleasant however we ordered mains which took over an hour to come out. my steak (ordered medium) was well done. It still tasted nice but was a little on the dry side for my liking. Overall a solid 4/5 but room for improvement.
