I can fault this beautiful regeneration in Kings Cross. What was a derelict space now houses superb shops, supermarket and university. There are lots of open spaces including the canals and a good choice of restaurants and coffee shops, especially now that a market has been added among the shops. The market also contains a lovely record shop, full of new and old vinyl. And best of all is an Alan Ducasse chocolatier shop! Some days there is live entertainment. You?ll find the original market behind the University building near Waitrose, selling some original items. Coal Drops Yard is just a short walk from Kings Cross Station or St Pancras Station. If you are lucky you?ll find yourself in the walkway of changing colours.

Visited here for the 1st time after seeing photos on the net, have to say I was disappointed. Easy to find from Kings Cross Station, took around 15 minutes so easy peasy.Found the entrance but some of the steps closed off for repair work, went in via side entrance and to be honest not what I expected. Hardly any people there, granted it was midweek but it was approaching midday. The shops I felt seemed a bit highbrow, also there was a visible lack of prices. This meant you had to go into shop just to find cost of the goods on show, there were a few places to eat but again not busy. It was a very clean environment and looked well maintained, not my cup of tea as I expected more of a market feel about the place. It may well get busier at weekends, but sorry to say I won't be returning to find out.I left after about 30 minutes and decided to walk to Camden Market via the canal, much better choice for food, goods and buzzing atmosphere.
