Cute cafe, such a shame I had an issue with allergens here.
Me and my partner came in to grab the gluten free tomato and pesto toastie, I popped to the bathroom when my partner witnessed the server open up the toastie (which gets cooked in its packaging to save cross contamination) gets put into the oven using tongs that?s have bread and cheese all over it. Then taken out with the same tong put onto a very used cutting tray and cut with a knife that was just left on the side.
After I got told about this I spoke to the server saying I will not be able to consume this due to being a celiac and the server did apologise and offer a new toastie which there was none left.
It was not busy at that current time and even so, allergens should be taken seriously as if it wasn?t spotted by my partner I would of been very ill

Absolutely shocked and shaken by what happened at the Aldwych Kingsway store today Caffè Nero #cafenero
I ordered a large skinny cappuccino, but the male barista made a regular one. When I politely pointed it out, he poured it into a bigger cup, diluted it with milk, and then aggressively jabbed his finger at me, saying, ?Next time, say it properly!?
When I asked what he meant, he kept pointing and repeated it in a confrontational tone. I calmly said I didn?t want conflict ? and he raised his fist at me. As a woman, I felt genuinely frightened and unsafe.
I asked him to stop, and he laughed in my face and walked off. I tried to speak to a manager, but another staff member snapped, ?There is no manager,? and walked away too.
To top it off, my drink was served in a chipped cup, and when I asked for a replacement, they slammed it down without a word. Both staff then stood nearby, staring and laughing at me.
This is beyond bad service. It was hostile, humiliating, and deeply upsetting. I?ve had poor service here before, but this crossed a serious line. I?ve raised a formal complaint and expect a proper response.
No one should be made to feel unsafe or disrespected like this.

Horrible experience
The male waiter placed his fingers in my coffee mug, I asked to changed it and explained the reason.
His answer was: it does not matter He washed that before, and after my objection, he answered again, then do not order.
Honestly extremely disappointed.

It is unusual for me to be compelled to write a review - however, I felt I must in the circumstances. Drinking my coffee, I watched a member of staff doing the very simple task of cleaning the outside tables. The diligence, love and care she put into a mundane and boring task was exemplary. As a business person, that is the sort of attitude I always want in my staff - cheered up my day. Apart from anything else - lovely coffee shop / quiet relaxing music and a good ambience. - highly recommended.

Rather cozy, despite the very trafficked location. Not the quietest place, though, but the peculiar layout with all the books helps to distract and relax.

I bought two flat white to drink in, the girl serving me didn?t give me a tray to carry them on the table and no teaspoons to stir the coffees I had to ask for the tray and for the teaspoons she expect me to carry them by hand and spill the coffees also no even napkins and all the tables very dirty with cups plates and dirty napkins used by customers , not thanking me after I paid, not smiling from the girls serving the customers, not good service at all?

Rude staff, old plates and cups left on the tables, would help if you could get the order right. A latte X 2 is not a gingerbread latte.
