Booking appointment online was very easy, with text reminder and email reminder for appointment sent out. Optician was knowledgeable and answered all questions and staff were very friendly and helpful in shop.

Not a great experience overall - first visit randomly closed due to staff shortages so I had to come back the next day. Then the guy almost ordered my prescription without adding the prism so if I hadn?t been watching the screen my order would have been wrong. Then for the fitting my frames were noticeably uneven and the guy was worried about using the heat machine so they just told me to come back in a month if I hadn?t got used to it. I wanted to find a place closer than SpecSavers but I?ll just go back there next time!

I?d go as far as saying they are the worst opticians ever. They are always running drastically behind and the staff are not very subtle when they bicker with one another. Staff members including the optometrist are huffy and treat you like a hindrance. On top of this, they NEVER ANSWER THE PHONE

Absolutely useless. No-one picks up the phone. Constant cancellation and re-scheduling of appointments. Always late when you get there, even if you're the first appointment. Shambles.Edit: Even worse. ask me to email them and no response. Went in store and promised an email and 5 days later still nothing. Ridiculous.

- lack of good skill in interwieing the customer, for instance asking whether it is on a specific benefit in order to benefit from free eye test- lack of disclosing informatiom, such as the right to a voucher of £40 for a pair of glasses if you are on benefit- failure to do the eye test properly. For instance, I was told to come back to another test because I need drops as the optician was not able to identify my eye dioptry. That was highly unreasonable to my situation, as my job need lots of hour spent at computers, so putting drops into my eyes would have meant that apporximatelly 48h woiuld have not been able to see.However, I have not listened to that optician from Balham, so I decided to consultant another one, from a different Boots Optic. That one gave me everytjing what I need, including identyfing my eye problem without the drops.So the Balham's staff needs further training on dealing with customers, especially with those vulnerable, to incresde emphaty and sympathy towards them. The team may be easily seen by a customer like me as having a lack of emphaty towards the vurnerable, and as wanting to not disclose information that may benefit a customer, such as 40%voucher or free eye test on benefit.Of course that maybe this is not their intention, but their lack of communication may lead to this kind of interpretation by us, your so valuable customer.
