“What a lovely book store! Unusually, books are organized by region rather than a more typical Dewey decimal based system, and that means the browser will find delightful connections between fiction and various non-fiction books. For example, one might find a guide to Marylebone architecture alongside 'The Complete Sherlock Holmes'. Any book lover in London would be well advised to save a few hours for a visit to Daunt.”

“One of those places you can spend hours exploring the old oak shelves and tables scattered about creaking under the weight of piles of books. In a word, fantastic”

“This bookshop is unique, it’s in a narrow boat on Regents Canal. Only a 5 min walk from Kings Cross and definitely a must see whilst walking around the canals!”

“This has always been a great bookshop, but the quality of the board games has shot up, putting it in the top tier. Has all the classics you would expect and a great cafe too.”

“This is a large used bookstore located on the first basement floor. Most of the books were novels, but there were also sections on nonfiction, history, physics, engineering, and other natural sciences.”

“A store similar to Monoprix, clean and well organized, with higher prices than Monop. Responsive staff. A medium brioche accompanied by an elderberry-raspberry kombucha with an atypical taste.”

“Staff are helpful yet not intrusive or pushy. Excellent selection of a broad variety of topics of books and tarot. Good selection of stones and if related collections as well. Fair prices!”

“A bit of a surreal moment, at Comic-Con London went to listen to a talk by Jim Zub, who writes the Conan Comics , I had to tell him & the “boss” of Forbidden Planet that I had worked on Conan the Barbarian.,at the end of the talk which was fascinating, after thanking the sound guy& cameraman , he turned to me & thanked ME for coming telling everyone that I had made costumes for the film! I was happy but embarrassed! ‘Felt special’! lol( I never got a credit on the film so this mention meant a lot xx )”

“Treadwell's Books were excellent. I couldn't ask for better. They left me to browse in peace, when I wanted to browse in peace. They answered my questions when I had questions and (when I decided to make a purchase) they processed my purchase in a speedy, effective, polite and well mannered fashion.I literally could not ask for more!”

“My favourite place to spend lunchtime or an hour slagging off work in the City. All the information the kleptocrats and their lackeys don’t want you to have, and reasonably priced too. You won’t find most of these books on Amazon, funnily enough.”

“We had a lovely experience (except for the terrible pop music!), i was so happy to find a graphic novel I'd been looking for for years and it was in excellent condition so i was happy to pay over the marked price. The young person behind the till was very sweet, friendly and knowledgeable. I hope your floors get the support they need!Next time we're in London we will definitely be back!”

“A gem of a waterstones, its way bigger than it looks from the outside, very cozy. Biggest selection of pokemon tcg stuff ever. Phenomenonal customer service as well as the gentleman working there let me go behind the till to get a better look at the cards. 10 stars if possible.”

“This bookstore boasts a truly phenomenal selection – it seems they have more books than physical space to contain them! The staff's knowledge across all genres is equally impressive, making it a joy to explore new titles. I spent far more than anticipated in my purchases. We left with a lighter wallet and a heavy bag.”

“No fault here - knowledgeable staff, a well stocked shop, with an excellent second hand section; speedy ordering for items not in stock. I appreciate the growing focus on LGBTI+ titles, and BME authors. The book group/s are lively, and successful. I'm hoping the LGBTI+ flag, recently forcibly removed by an unknown thief, will be restored soon, with Pride returning to this corner of our local community. Thank you!”

“It's a nice little bookshop just outside of Kew Gardens underground station. It's not a big shop but it's got a selection of adult and children books, fiction and non-fiction, greeting cards, etc. Worth visiting ?”

“A lovely little bookshop on the quiet outskirts of London.A third of the space is dedicated to books divided by geographical areas, tourist guides and the like, a third to contemporary fiction, the rest equally between children's books, classics and non-fiction of various genres. All carefully selected: little but good. For lovers of traditional bookshops.”

“A fabulous little bookshop, perfect for those with a penchant for socialist texts, or non-fiction in general. I managed to find two books that I had been trying (and failing) to find in multiple other stores (Poor by Caleb Femi and The Utopians by Anna Neima).”

“Really good book selection, the staff were super friendly. It's quite a busy shopping but given it's location that's understandable. Toilet queues were along but the toilets themselves were clean enough.”

“We always stop by this bookshop during trips to London to find books for our home! This last trip, we scored two hardback books for £3 each and were overjoyed. These go between £3 and £15 usually, more if the book is in excellent condition. You really have to look hard to find gems, but once you do you’ll be thrilled. There’s everything from books on cooking, design, photography, pets, business, history, politics and more.”

“Notting Hill Book Exchange is one of my absolute favourite place for old magazines! Young Irish lad at the till was so lovely to chat to about the magazines. As a magazine collector this is a gem of a place as the prices can be so inexpensive. I paid 50p PER s&s magazine!!! Selection is great and I will definitely be returning to find more gems.”

“Here you're more likely to find a genuine obscurity or the unfamiliar and at a reasonable price. The 'usual' music genres, fair depth of stock (noticeably in Psych & Prog), with a high incidence of 'clean' items. Spacious and informal with a relaxed vibe. Hosts events, radio and guest DJs, serves coffee, sells books and licensed. A top-notch music destination and a hang-out to boot. Definitely worth the schlep, for sure.Revisited 6 years later and not disappointed.Undoubtedly one of London’s finest second-hand vinyl destinations.Owner is knowledgeable and engaging.”
