Disappointing.
I?ve been coming to Blackbird Bakery for several years.
I was disappointed with the Herne Hill branch.
The chocolate cake was dried out and stale.
It had obviously been left uncovered in the chiller for several days!
I was given a refund (with no apology offered) but actually I would have preferred a fresh piece chocolate cake.
Staff need more training in basic customer service.

Delicious sourdough bread.
They also have a loyalty card which offers a free coffee and a loaf of bread after a set amount of purchases

Had lunch here on Friday. I don't understand how this bakery doesn't score higher - admittedly the sandwiches were pre-prepared (stacked on the counter), but they were fresh and very enjoyable, and the coffee was good too. We ate in a cosy (small) garden area out back, and that was very pleasant too.
Hard to find fault with that. A sandwich, a coffee and a shared savoury - just over £10 per person, if I recollect correctly.

We go to this Bakery for their Chicken Pesto Sandwiches. Since the most recent staff turn over, the service has been shocking, I was told that one sandwich would take 20mins to make, and the bakery was not busy at this time. The Sandwiches do not taste as good as previously and believe the quality has declined.

Reuben sandwich pleasant, Stem Ginger Cake excellent, well made Oat Cappuccino, good meal deal price and nice homey atmosphere.

Sunday market day, flat white tiny and really cold, should at least try to make effort to serve coffee hot.

Been going to blackbird bakeries for years. The quality and service drops all the time and everything is so expensive. Feels like a commercial chain these days !!

Very happy to see some decent vegan options (& hoping to see even more soon!) The Moroccan style roll was fantastic. Great coffee too! Friendly & helpful staff. Cosy little garden at the back.
